Fantasy Sports Live Update 5-27-14
It’s time to podcast up for today’s Fantasy Sports Live Update!
Tonight’s DraftDay Action

Hyun-jin Ryu was a make or break player last night.
As usual, DraftDay is bringing you some terrific opportunities to make some easy cash on Tuesday. The Field of Dreams boasts a $5,000 prize pool, with first place taking home a cool 2 grand. Trying to find a way to one-up Hoop2410? Bring your A-game and enter the $109 buy-in tournament now! If triple-digit buy-ins aren’t your forte, you can enter the $1,500 Knuckleball for just 15 bucks. You could spend your $15 on a facsimile (that means fake) autographed baseball of the 2001 New York Yankees here, or take the cash and throw your hat in the ring.
Taking down the Knuckleball pays out $500, and you could afford a REAL autograph, not the fake crap that I rummaged through eBay to find for you. Best case scenario, you have $30, and you can afford that crappy baseball AND field a team in the Knuckleball. The choice is yours. (Don’t buy that baseball). We will see you tonight in the Five Guys game, and hopefully at the top of the Field of Dreams leaderboard. I would love nothing more than to make your name famous tomorrow morning, as I give out compliments like Ohio gives out precipitation. You may not want it, but its just going to happen.

DraftDay Update
$109 Field of Dreams
Hoop2410 (245) became the most recent thousandaire on DraftDay, winning the Field of Dreams Monday on the strength of 64 points from Ryan Howard. Drinks are on Hoop2410 tonight! Pitching was hard to come by yesterday, with Jeff Samardzija (46) and Tommy Milone (42) surprisingly leading the pack. There has been no hotter player in the Field of Dreams field over the past week than emwin55 (229), who took down BOTH second and third (and $1,000) with his ballsy play of Kyle Blanks (49). Justin Upton and Yoenis Cespedes continued their hot streaks, much to the delight of panoszack (228), who took down 4th place. Conor Gillespie and Ryan Howard‘s combined 114 points provided a spark for rrt7573 (218), as he once again found his way into the money with a 5th place finish.

On Sunday, Josh Beckett gave the Dodgers their first no-hitter since 1996. On Monday, Hyun-jin Ryu followed that up with seven perfect innings before Todd Frazier finally broke the silence when he led off the 8th inning with a double. Ryu was one of the most popular picks in CrazyGabey‘s Memorial Day edition of Five Guys, being rostered in over 70% of lineups. Ryu‘s 41 points overshadowed Yordano Ventura‘s awful (-8) performance against the suddenly dangerous Houston Astros. Desmond Jennings and David DeJesus were the difference as scoregasmic (244) waltzed his way to the top of the standings. JohnnyP (220) took advantage of Everth Cabrera‘s monster 58-point game to finish second. Rounding out the top 5 were raygo (219), MD0530 (201), and the legend that is SirMalcolm (197).
