Fantasy Hockey Picks 2-24-15
These fantasy hockey picks will help you crush the competition tonight!
We have a jam packed 11 game schedule this evening and with the NBA only having 4 games I am hoping some of the users that played NHL during the NBA all star break will continue to do so.
Goalies:
Devan Dubnyk ($21,250) - It is incredible what Dubnyk has been able to do since joining the Wild. He has a 13-2 record while stopping 93.6% of shots and only allowing 1.64 goals per game since the trade. He also gets a prime matchup with EDM and should have no trouble winning this game.
Cam Talbot ($17,650) - The Rangers are playing great hockey right now and are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games. Talbot should be a safe option for the win while saving some salary compared to the top options tonight.
Others: Jaroslav Halak, Cam Ward
Centers:
Anders Lee ($12,000) - A great way to get exposure to Johnathan Tavares who is red hot right now. Lee skates with Tavares the entire game on even strength and the teams top power play. The matchup against Mike Smith and the Coyotes 26th rank penalty kill should get exploited tonight by the Islanders top line.
Jordan Staal ($8,850) - With the Flyers splitting up Giroux and Voracek, Staal should face weaker competition throughout this game and have to work a little less defensively. This can only help his offensive game which is finally starting to come back around. A great matchup and the price is very fair.
Others: Mark Scheifele, Brad Richards
Left Wing:
Patrick Shard ($9,900) - Reunited with Richards and Patrick Kane on the second lien for Chicago and the price is as low as you will ever see it. Sharp is a very safe play as he shoots 3.65 shots a game and can contribute even without finding the back of the net. Playing with Patrick Kane really opens things up for Sharp and he has the skills to take advantage.
Zach Parise ($13,500) - I don’t love the fact that he is no longer skating with Vanek or Pominville on even strength but Parise is the type of player that can and will create his own shot whenever he can. Parise had a monster game with 2 goals and 5 shots on goal Sunday night and the matchup has only gotten better.
Others: Mats Zuccarello, Colin Wilson
Right Wing:
Wayne Simmonds ($13,750) - Wayne continues his hot streak with 2 more goals in his last two games. Now that he is skating with Claude Giroux at even strength due to their line changes his value only increases. 8 game point streak with 10 points in those games and is really flying under the radar it seems.
David Pastrnak ($7,950) - With Vancouver’s defensemen a mess right now due to injury and Boston being desperate for points in the standings I think they will start to turn it around. Pastrnak is a cheap way to get exposure to Boston’s most talented line and power play.
Others: Blake Wheeler, Brandon Saad
Defense:
Duncan Kieth ($10,450) - Every time Kieth and the Blackhawks are at home you have to look his way. He has 20 points at home to go along with 80 shots on goal and 44 blocked shots. He contributes in every way possible for daily fantasy and makes him a very consistent option for your cash games.
Zdeno Chara ($9,150) - Another player that the asking price is simply too low. Chara is due to break out one of these games and I will be on him that night. He is still getting the ice time on the power play unit and continues to throw his body in front of shots each and every night. Just like Kieth, he always finds a way to contribute.
Others: Ryan McDonagh, Dennis Seidenberg
