Fantasy Hockey Picks 2-27-15
These fantasy hockey picks will help you cash in BIG tonight!
We have a great 6 game slate with not many huge favorites tonight. These are my favorite nights to play as there will be many unique players across lineups with not much overlap.
Goalies:
Kari Lehtonen ($18,600) - Despite his putrid performance last time out against the Red Wings I am confident that Lehtonen will win this game. Colorado just doesn’t have what it takes to put 4-5 goals on the board and with Dallas being at home getting to dictate the matchups Benn and Spezza should be able to score plenty in support for the win.
Others: Tukka Rask, Braden Holtby
Centers:
Steven Stamkos ($13,800) - Corey Crawford has been letting in some very soft goals as of late and if there is anyone on Tampa that can take advantage of this it is Stamkos as he shoots the puck any chance he gets. With Tampa being at home he should be able to avoid the Johnathan Toews line which is a huge advantage when playing Chicago.
Patrick Sharp ($10,200) - With the injury to Patrick Kane, Sharp should take his spot in the teams top 6 and also on the top power play unit. The price is way down from where it was earlier this season and comes in at a great value. There aren’t many cheap centers I like tonight so I will be spending big dollars on them.
Left Wing:
Alexander Semin ($6,200) - Getting the chance to play with the Staal brothers on the teams top line is a huge bump in expected production for Semin. I believe the team is trying to showcase his skills and move him before Mondays trade deadline and with the opportunity of skating on the top line he should put up the numbers that look very attractive to teams on the playoff bubble.
Brad Marchand ($11,150) - Boston really needs to step it up and start winning games. Tonight is a great chance to get back on track while visiting the Devils and Marchand is on the teams most productive scoring line. It is a little bothersome that he does not get any power play but with only 6 games there aren’t many options tonight.
Others: Brandon Saad, Marcus Johansson
Right Wing:
Tyler Toffoli ($11,650) - Toffoli is still playing great despite a 3 game pointless streak. He is still producing with 13 shots on goal in these 3 games. The Kings were on a roll until last nights 1-0 loss to Ottawa. This second line for LA has been the most productive all season long and it hasn’t been close as of late.
Erik Cole ($9,150) - Skating with Benn/Spezza has been great for Cole as he has 5 points in his last 5 games. Dealing with an upper body injury so make sure he is in the lineup tonight but I expect him to be good to go and have no concern about rostering him if he is in the lineup.
Others: Jeff Skinner, Troy Brouwer
Defense:
John Klingberg ($9,550) - Klingberg should get plenty of chances to show off his big shot tonight as the Avalanche are one of the worst teams in the league at controlling the puck and keeping it out of their defensive zone.
Zdeno Chara ($8,900) - Chara’s price is simply too low for the caliber of player he is. It appears that he is starting to look for his shot a little more recently and what a shot it is. This is simply a good play because of how low the price is and will be on my rosters very often until he is priced where it should be.
Others: Torey Krug, Anton Stralman
