Fantasy Hockey Picks 12-29-14
These fantasy hockey picks will help lead your team to victory!
After the 3 day hiatus we finally have a huge slate of games. It feels like it has been forever since the last big slate of games. Let’s end this year right and recoup some of the cash we spent of gifts.
Goalies:
Ben Bishop ($15,550) - This price tag just makes no sense to me as he had been one of the most expensive goalies all season long until his injury. He is back now and with the Lightning being 14-4-1 at home this season he makes for a great play. Toronto is mixing their skating lines around in order to get the offense going as it is just not right at this time.
Craig Anderson ($20,100) - Ottawa is allowing over 33 shots per game this season and that leads to a high ceiling for their goalies. Something has to give tonight because Buffalo is unable to keep possession of the puck it seems. Anderson is a nice contrarian play with a lot of upside.
Others: Jonathan Quick, Martin Brodeur (Min price)
Centers:
John Tavares ($12,750) - Tavares has 3 goals in his last 3 games and draws one of the better matchups for the scoring studs today. Washington’s blue line is not playing like they are worthy of the money they spent in the off season. Braden Holtby has exceeded my expectations in net thus far but is still letting in a soft goal here and there.
Alex Galchenyuk ($10,850) - Galchenyuk is really heating up and the price is rising at a torrid pace. Ever since being moved to the team’s top line he is producing like a superstar. He has 4 goals and 3 assists in his previous 4 outings and the matchup against Carolina should not be the one to slow him down.
Others: T.J Oshie, Derek Stepan
Left Wing:
Chris Kunitz ($10,300) - It is only a matter of time before the top line in Pittsburgh starts rolling. Kunitz has great chemistry with Crosby and loves playing with him (who wouldn’t). The price tag won’t break the bank and the Devils are going to have a headache trying to stop this Penguins top line.
Ondrej Palat ($9,250) - This skating line is playing the best for Tampa right now and has great chemistry. Tyler Johnson has been on fire and Palat has been there to benefit with assists. The opposing game plan is to usually shut down Stamkos and Palat is ready and willing to take full advantage of that.
Others: Mats Zuccarello, Zach Parise
Right Wing:
Jakub Voracek ($15,600) - The league leader in points this season has a tasty matchup tonight. While the Flyers as a whole are not producing much offense right now Voracek continues to get it done. It will be tough not to have some exposure to him this evening.
Brett Connolly ($6,150) - Connolly is now skating with Steven Stamkos on both the teams top even strength and top power play unit. This price is just too low for anyone given the opportunity. I am not really high on him as a player but DFS is all about one day. I would not be surprised if he runs into 2 assists and that would pay off his salary many times over.
Others: Martin St. Louis, Brendan Gallagher
Defense:
Zdeno Chara ($8,150) - Chara is one of the most consistent fantasy defenseman there is when the site counts blocked shots. Take advantage of the price as he is listed way too low like Bishop after coming off of his injury.
Victor Hedman ($6,950) - Another price that baffles me. He is one of the most expensive plays on other sites around the industry but comes in at less than half of the price of player he is more expensive than elsewhere. The price is right.
Others: Andrei Markov, Nick Leddy
