Fantasy Hockey Picks 2-12-15
These fantasy hockey picks are your key to unlocking BIG winnings tonight!
Tonight is a big Thursday night in DFS as NHL is the only game in town. I am hoping this will draw more action to the NHL and give us sharper players an even bigger advantage against the players just dipping into NHL now.
Goalies:
Pekka Rinne ($22,450) - Pekka will cost you big time tonight but he is still in play for me. He is the leading candidate for the Vezina trophy this year for good reason. Only allowing 2.01 goals per game this season and a 31-7-2 record Rinne is always in play. This matchup against the new look Jets should not scare you away at all. A .929 save % is just ridiculous and makes PEkka one of the safest options on the board.
Jaroslav Halak ($18,200) - With Toronto in complete disarray you must look at Halak. Phill Kessel is reported to be skating on the Leafs 4th skating line tonight and that leaves me puzzled as to which line in Toronto is capable of scoring. Vegas see’s this game the same way with NYI being a huge favorite tonight.
Others: Dustin Tokarski, Devan Dubnyk
Centers:
David Desharnais ($8,350) - Skating on the top line with Max Pacioretty has really paid off for David. 2 goals and 6 assists in his last 5 games is just absurd. The matchup is great and the price is still very low. I can’t picture myself talking myself off of him tonight at this asking price.
Evgeni Malkin ($12,900) - Malkin played a great game last night despite not finding the score sheet. His skating line contributed two goals but unfortunately he did not pick up an assist. When Pittsburgh is on the road I often roster Malkin because the home team tends to have their top defensive unit focus on Crosby all game.
Others: Ryan Getzalf, Jeff Carter
Left Wing:
David Perron ($10,750) - Pairing Perron with Malkin will give you exposure to both of the top two lines and a pair that skate together on the top power play. This makes for a great strategy in cash games as you will likely benefit from every goal that Pittsburgh scores.
Patrick Maroon ($7,650) - Skating with Getzalf and Perry is a great place to be. Maroon has recently moved back to this top line so don’t let his lack of production in the game logs fool you. Great value play tonight.
Others: Thomas Vanek, Bobby Ryan (Check status)
Right Wing:
Nikita Kucherov ($10,650) - Goals in 4 straight games and the price tag still being low around the industry is enough to negate the tough matchup for Kucherov tonight. Ride the hot hand before the price increases.
Dale Weise ($7,700) - Skating with Pacioretty and Desharnais certainly has its benefits. One of the hottest lines in the league with a great matchup and the cheapest way to get exposure to it.
Others: Marian Gaborik, Jason Pominville
Defense:
Seth Jones ($7,950) - Coming in on a 5 game point streak including 3 goals and his price has risen just a few hundred. The Jets have a new look and it may take them a few games to develop the chemistry. Take advantage of some of the sloppy play tonight with a hot hand for a low price.
Cam Fowler ($6,700) - Still getting ice time on the top power play unit and the price has even gone down. It is tough to predict which of the Ducks defensemen will produce but they are all in a good spot tonight in Carolina. I will take my chances with the cheapest that gets the power play time.
Others: Ryan Suter, Johnny Boychuk
