Fantasy Hockey Picks 2-14-15
These fantasy hockey picks will guide your team to victory!
Today is the day for fantasy hockey to show how much it loves us. We are the only game in town and the GPPs have increased in size. The cash game action has certainly picked up as well with the lack of NBA action due to the All Star break. Great time to grind some cash games.
Goalies:
Devan Dubnyk ($22,800) - Dubnyk has been outstanding since joining the Wild. He is 9-1 with 1.48 Goals allowed and a .943 save % since joining the Wild and gets a matchup at home against the last place Carolina Hurricanes. I will provide some value picks later to afford the salary hit.
Jhonas Enroth ($16,650) - Looks like it will be Enroth in net for Dallas. The first start with a new team can be dangerous but he is in a good position to get the win and those points are crucial. Should not let in more than 2 goals to a Colorado team that seems to never have the puck in the offensive zone.
Others: Pekka Rinne, Jimmy Howard
Centers:
Henrik Zetterberg ($13,150) - The Detroit Red Wings come into today’s games with the highest ranked power play in the league. Winnipeg takes the most penalties in the league. This one is as simple as that. Target the DET power play.
Jason Spezza ($11,350) - With the injury to Tyler Seguin last night I expect Spezza to center the Stars top line with Jamie Benn. Make sure this is the case before rostering him but he will have great value when he does move to the top line.
Others: David Desharnais, Jeff Carter
Left Wing:
Zach Parise ($13,200) - The price has really decreased and that makes him even more in play than normal. With only 1 goal in the last 5 games I think many will be worried about his production but those type of slumps are normal for hockey.
Mats Zuccarello ($11,000) - Has recently been moved up to the top power play unit and has really been thriving. Skating with the leagues leader in goals on both even strength and the power play unit really has its benefits. Great way to get exposure to Nash without paying his hefty price tag.
Others: James Neal, Alex Burrows
Right Wing:
Tyler Toffoli ($9,450) - 5 goals in his last 3 games and playing great right now. The “70’s line” was really clicking early this season and Toffoli was a huge part of that success. The Kings really need to buckle down and start winning games if they want to defend their title and are playing extremely motivated right now.
Nathan MacKinnon ($10,300) - If you do not go the Enroth route in net than you must look at MacKinnon. This game should be very fast paced and that is the type of game that this speedster will thrive in. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a 5-4 game. MacKinnon has 13 shots on goal in the last 3 games and playign well since being moved to the teams top line.
Others: Jason Pominville, Dustin Brown
Defense:
Travis Hamonic ($10,700) - Playing great right now with 5 assists in his last 4 games. The price has skyrocketed but paying for the hot hand is never a bad idea. Columbus has to travel after playing a tough fought overtime game last night and will have tired legs.
Niklas Kronwall ($8,950) - Kronwall is on the point of the top power play to target tonight and with this price and the fact that you get bonus points for power play points makes him an even better play. Kronwall doesn’t have a goal in 2 months so nobody will play him but he quietly has compiled 30 points this season.
Others: Ryan Suter, Jason Demers
