Fantasy Sports Live Update 5-23-14
Let the Fantasy Sports Live Update give you a nudge in the right direction.

Jose Altuve’s late stolen base was the difference maker in last night’s $5K Field of Dreams.
We have a great slate of games on this Friday evening, and I know that most of you had your paychecks deposited this morning. Don’t worry about how I know, just use $109 of it to join the $5,000 Field of Dreams now. First place takes home two “Stacks” as you young whippersnappers like to call it. For those of you who aren’t quite caught up with the latest trends and slang, that means TWO THOUSAND, also known as how much it costs to buy about 30 Furbies (Seriously). So face off against CrazyGabey in the Field of Dreams, win yourself some cash and buy something dumb with it like most Americans would. I am going to be honest with you. Furbies are stupid. Please don’t buy 30 Furbies with your winnings. But if you do…SEND PICTURES!
For the more modest bankrolls there are two sweet contests for you to enter. Join the $1,500 Knuckleball and $750 Wiz Walkoff now, both provide solid thrills without breaking the bank.
Josh Shepardson is bringing you another edition of his “Picks to Click” today. Anyone who scored 83 points last night (like I did) is required to make a mandatory read of his article in an attempt to avoid further embarrassment. You may not think you need the help, but I do. I can’t wait to let Josh do most of my work for me tonight. See you there.
In case you missed it, CrazyGabey all but demanded that you play Chris Sale and Zack Greinke. If you played Sale, you’re likely a pretty happy person this morning, as he dominated the Yankees last night to the tune of 57 points! Seth Smith went ahead and took care of business in his first at bat, crushing a dong right away. Allen Craig‘s 23 points were more than enough to pay off his salary as well. Greinke and Cano each had decent games, but didn’t quite pay off their price tags. However, If you played all of these guys together, your core would have tied for 1st in CrazyGabey’s Five Guys Game, even with a zero from everyone else! This guy is crushing it. Take advantage! You may not be able to construct the same work of art that is his beard, but you can construct a lineup that is equally epic. I despise the word epic, but there can only be eight great wonders in this world. CrazyGabey‘s beard is one of them. ZZ Top ain’t got nothin’. They also aren’t DFS experts, and probably don’t even know who Seth Smith is. Pathetic.
DraftDay Field of Dreams Update
Jose Altuve took it upon himself to win the Field of Dreams for Boc4life last night with his 38 late points. Altuve‘s theft of second base in the seventh inning sealed the deal, as Boc4life (205) edged daily contender emwin55 (203), despite emwin55‘s pitching duo of Chris Sale and Jake Arrietta posting 98 points! Boc4life‘s combo of Altuve, Ryan Flaherty and Nick Markakis locked down 120 points, and were the major reason he vaulted into the top spot. Rounding out the top 5 were reztes757 (188), lipsgardner (176), and BrianH (175).

In a low scoring affair, TheDonkeys takes home the privilege of being called the best DFS player on Earth who entered our tournament last night. His 139 points in the Fantasy Sports Live League came on the back of Jake Arrieta and his solid 41 point outing against the Padres AAA affiliate, the El Paso Chihuauas. Actually, I’m getting word that he actually did face the Padres. My mistake. Well done, Jake. Devilball420 (133), ailk (131), SirMalcolm (129), found their way into the upper echelon, while MD0530 and Topperdoog tied for 5th with 116.
I made my debut in the Fantasy Sports Live Five League last night, and I am ashamed to tell you that I finished 11th out of 16. In my defense, I made it home late, and was forced to make my lineup while walking around Meijer since I’m a slacker. I know, I know, that’s no excuse for the pathetic 83 I scored. I’ll do better. Promise. Or I won’t, and you can just come take my money every day. CrazyGabey laid the “also out of the money” smackdown on me, posting an unprecedented 104 points and shaming me even further in the process.
