Fantasy Sports Live Podcast 6-2-14
Monday’s Fantasy Sports Live Podcast brings you an eight-game slate of MLB action at DraftDay.
As you may know by now, one of the fastest ways to become the industry’s newest “thousandaire” is by taking down the $109 Field of Dreams and it’s ensuing massive prize! Entering the contest is as easy as clicking the link in the previous sentence. What are you waiting for? Smaller bankrolls rejoice! For the price of a haircut ( for those of you fortunate enough to need one), you can buy-in to the $15 Knuckleball and take home $500 for first place. If small-time is more up your alley, I’ll see you in the $3.30 Wiz Walkoff tonight. You can still win $100 for first place. I like to enter multiple lineups with all of the plays I love for the night. I can’t imagine a scenario where you don’t have an extra three bucks laying around. Make your money work for you.
DraftDay Recap
$109 Field of Dreams
Let’s kick things off with Friday’s recap. The $109 Field of Dreams gave jordanh415 (298) one hell of a weekend. Dong sightings from Howie Kendrick, Jose Bautista, and a late night grand salami by Brandon Moss catapulted him into the top spot, and he went home with $2,000. iSplashRollz (291), dooger1234 (264), iSplashRollz (263), and ALLOFIT29 (260) rounded out a competitive top five. Saturday’s Field of Dreams double edition brought us another HoneyBadger sighting, as he took down the night version with 289 points. Right behind were rrt7573 (237) and mattgoody (213). The early game slate victory belonged to Redemption72 (306), followed by mattgoody‘s first of two FOD cashes (301), and Keith3101 (297). On Sunday, smdbishes (244) took advantage of Kyle Lohse and his career day against the Cubs to take down the Field of Dreams . AngryFish (229), Redemption72 (212), MrWonderful (209), and Anthony (201) rounded out the winners.
Friday’s edition of the $15 Knuckleball saw another hefty dose of iSplashRollz, as he took down first ($500) and fourth place (319, 291) on the strength of a Stephen Strasburg/Corey Kluber combo and a Brewers mini-stack. Sandwiched in between were Golf_Coach (295), Toastjones21 (293), and fifth place belonged to irvingtime (285). Miket_2412 (325) managed to take down Saturday’s early edition of the Knuckleball despite just 29 points from his starting pitchers. Juan Francisco‘s late-game heroics sealed the deal. Slevin1994 (303), mattgoody (301), Ravenmaniac (298), and Keith3101 (297) wrapped up the elite group in the top five. The late Saturday slate is where we saw history made . Hanley Ramirez posted a Wilt Chamberlain-style 100 points, and sent Toastjones21 (301) on his way to a Knuckleball victory. HoneyBadger (289) didn’t care once again, taking down second and third place, followed by pettycashman (288), and Bigpoppy (281). The Sunday Knuckleball was controlled by Biggsteve31 (262) and his deadly combination of Chris Sale (64) and John Lester (61), as well as new sensation Brock Holt (65), who tied the MLB record with 4 doubles. The great DFS mind of naapstermaan (247) went with the same pitching combo and finished second, followed by AllOrNothing (244), cwolford (242), and KevinA26 (241).
$3.30 Wiz Walkoff
The $3.30 Wiz Walkoff was incredible on Friday night. Lutcher81 posted a ridiculous 412 points on the strength of six dongs. Devin Mesoraco and Brandon Moss each hit late night Grand Slams to lead him to the insane score. Well done. 333 points from BnGHawks was good enough for second place, and the top five were rounded out by iSplashRollz (319), nickcarbo24 (315), and YukonYaks (295). In the early Saturday Wiz Walkoff, bigrobnutz (335) took advantage of a rare Mike Aviles (54) power surge to take down the stop spot in the early slate. Miket_2412 (325, 307), thecycle (316), and TheLooch (313) finished out the top spots. Late night Wiz Walkoff action on Saturday saw fireguy (395) use a combined three dongs and 10 RBI from Hanley Ramirez (100) and Yoenis Cespedes (78) to post a gaudy score. The rest of the top five were bjstlou (342), ndfan (333), dorsett3333 (305), and Gmw300 (297). Sunday’s Wiz Walkoff was not devoid of excitement, as g00nsquad (287) took Manny Machado‘s 6th inning Grand Slam straight to the bank. Second through fifth were rsible (278), smdbishes (264), Biggsteve31 (262), and naapstermaan (247).

Friday’s edition of Five Guys was dominated by rcf5415 (290), who was yet another player who benefited greatly from Brandon Moss’ 4-bagger. The remainder of the top five were bsell25 (252), BigItaly42 aka yours truly (233), reneemiller (226), and iconJoe (226). On Saturday evening, we had the best of the best showcase in the Five Guys freeroll, which is an exclusive weekly tournament only available to top-5 finishers in the Five Guys tournament during the week. Grabbing first place from behind was reacharound (284), who was a benefactor of Cespedes and his huge night. Taking down second through fourth was mattgoody (213), followed by some idiot named BigItaly42 (188).
