Let the Fantasy Sports Live Update help you withstand tonight’s short slate.
Tonight’s DraftDay Action
Happy Thursday everyone! We have a terrific 8-game slate tonight in the great world of Major League Baseball. As usual, DraftDay has great options for bankrolls big and small. If you haven’t already entered a contest, what are you waiting for? You could join the $109 Field of Dreams, and winning it will bump you up into elite “thousandaire” status. If you’re just looking to buy a few rounds of Jaegerbombs for you and the boys to celebrate your new haircuts, you can take home $200 tonight in the $15 Knuckleball. If frugality is your thing, or you’re someone who likes to keep their options open with multiple entries for less cash, the Wiz Walkoff is a mere 330 cents this evening (or $3.30 for you math nerds).

DraftDay Update
$109 Field of Dreams
Remember how HoneyBadger dominated the GPP scene at DraftDay Tuesday night? Wednesday was the night of naapstermaan. Starting things off the with Field of Dreams, we saw DraftDay mainstay reztes757 (286) ride an astronomical 173 points from Paul Goldschmidt, Martin Prado, and Tommy Medica to the top of the leaderboard. That’s where we begin naapstermaan‘s reign of terror. His 280 points were good for 2nd place on the strength of the 54-point twins Khris Davis and AJ Pollock. I noticed a high-scoring trend beginning with Arizona’s 8-run first inning, as a Martin Prado/AJ Pollock combo boosted mattgoody (229) into third place. Boc4life (219) returns to the daily update, earning a shoutout for fourth place. TwoGun (187) and 1ucror (181) finished out the money.
$15 Knuckleball
As I alluded to earlier, all of the mid-tier action was dominated last night by naapstermaan and his 280 point lineup. Another set of five crisp $100 bills were handed his way after winning the $15 Knuckleball. Safety14 (263) snagged in second as a result of his Goldschmidt/Prado/Khris Davis core. Arbutler7 (253) accomplished the not-so-simple task of winning third place, once again due to a trio of players from the Arizona/San Diego game. Rounding out the top five were ei_indy (236) and Gmw300 (234). I’ll spare you the details of which players they had from that game, but as you can see, most big money was won and lost in the desert last night.
$3.30 Wiz Walkoff
The $3.30 Wiz Walkoff, a game that is near and dear to my heart, was of course won by naapstermaan also. He finished just one win short of the Triple Crown, a disappointment that California Chrome may be dealing with soon. I thank second-place finisher Hendu617 (260) for FINALLY allowing me to talk about MLB’s home run leader Nelson Cruz and his double dong night. 252 points from rsible was good for third place. ChiefinU (243) and mattgoody (229) also found glory in the top five.
Coming Up Today
CrazyGabey was a HUGE proponent of John Lackey in yesterday’s edition of Five Guys, as well as the daily podcast. He delivered in a big way, posting 9 punchouts on his way to a 48-point performance. Clayton Kershaw was a solid play as usual, as he posted 9 K’s, but was a tough luck loser on his way to 31 points. Stay tuned for another edition of Five Guys today.
But wait, there’s more! If you’re an NBA fan, check out my column today on the San Antonio Spurs and why they may be in big trouble against NBA MVP Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nick is bringing you another edition of “Operation 1ucror”. If you’re wondering, yes, it is the same 1ucror from the Field of Dreams leaderboard.
Fantasy Sports Live League Update
Speaking of Five Guys, I cemented my spot in the Five Guys freeroll for this weekend, placing second in CrazyGabey’s Five Guys tournament last night. It was still at the expense of my own rear-end kicking courtesy of naapstermaan though. I held my own, coming up a mere 91 points shy of the top spot with 189 points. bsell25 (169), TheLooch (150), and Ballerzzz81 (145) were also members of the elite top five. Our own CrazyGabey (143) made his way into the money, but fell just 2 points shy of a freeroll entry. I look forward to his bad beat story on the podcast. Stay tuned for that, and maybe even some Kevin Durant love.
