Fantasy Hockey Picks 11-11-14
These fantasy hockey picks will help you dominate tonight’s HUGE slate!
Goalies:
Brian Elliot ($19,150) - Not only is he the safest option by a mile tonight, but he is listed as the 14th most expensive goalie. Even if he was the most expensive I would still look to roster him. The Blues are finally healthy (besides Oshie) and are playing great in front of him, winning 7 of their last 10. Elliot should be a lock for the win tonight.
Braden Holtby ($15,350) - I don’t like taking goalies against my Blue Jackets but I know what butters my bread. Washington at home should have no problem scoring on the depleted Jackets. This should be the last game before they get Bobrovsky back so it is the right move to pick on them for an easy win right now. Washington comes in as the second biggest favorite of the day in Vegas so Holtby’s price is a steal for a game where he is expected to win easily.
Others: Pekka Rinne, Antti Niemi
Centers:
Tyler Seguin ($15,550) - It doesn’t seem to matter where and who Seguin is playing against. He is a fantasy stud. While Arizona has started to turn it around a little, I don’t see it being enough to shut down Seguin. Jason Spezza was recently moved off of his skating line which is a big blow to his threat to score every shift, but Seguin has been phenomenal no matter who he skates with. Don’t hesitate to pay up here as Seguin is a threat to post his third hat trick of the season tonight.
Jori Lehtera ($5,000) - Lehtera should be in every lineup tonight. I can’t explain why he is minimum price as he is on a 4 game point streak coming into a game where he gets the best matchup on the board. His line mates Taresenko and Schwartz are on fire, and Lehtera is holding his own and producing fantasy points night in and night out.
Others:Paul Statsny, Henrik Sedin
Left Wing:
Joe Pavelski ($14,700) - Has produced at least 3.5 fantasy points in each of his last 7 games. Pavelski is looking great right now and should have no trouble carving up Florida’s defense. The Sharks’ power play unit is outstanding and should see plenty of ice time as the Panthers inexperience on defense will likely lead to them taking plenty of penalties.
Max Pacioretty ($13,850) - Is always in play and often under owned. Pacioretty loves to shoot any time he gets a chance and this leads to him paying off his price even when he doesnt score. There aren’t many players you can count on for some guaranteed production in NHL, but Pacioretty is as close as it gets.
Others: Nikolay Kulemin, James Neal
Right Wing:
Alex Ovechkin ($18,350) - As I mentioned before, Washington gets to face Curtis McElhinney in net tonight and he has been getting blown up. Ovechkin has not scored a goal in 3 games which seems like an eternity to him. He will come out hungry and should have no problem scoring tonight. The Jackets have been taking plenty of penalties and Ovechkin is the best in the world at taking advantage of the power play.
Kris Versteeg ($6,450) - Skating with Patrick Kane and Johnathan Toews certainly brings out the best in players. This has to be one of the best spots for a value play in the entire league. Two great playmakers that are very unselfish and demand all of the attention from the defense leads the 3rd man (Versteeg) to great scoring chances. The matchup isn’t ideal, but the price is right.
Others: Kyle Okposo, Janik Hansen
Defense:
Trevor Daley ($7,000) - Daley continues to produce. Getting a lot of ice time with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn will certainly boost his value, but Daley has been joining the rush much more this season and it is paying off in DFS. His production has been equal to a forward who costs $13,000 all season and he is still hardly half of that price.
Lubomir Visnovsky ($5,000) - This minimum price is getting ridiculous. Visnovsky is a plug and play every single night regardless of the matchup. Fortunately, his matchup is actually good tonight and I will not hesitate to roster him heavily.
Others: Brent Burns, Mike Green
