Fantasy Hockey Picks 11-22-14
These fantasy hockey picks will guide you to victory tonight!
I am going to ignore the 3 PM game and focus on the other 12 games today. Today is a great day to play DFS as we have CFB, NBA and NHL. I hope this will cut down on your research time.
Goalies:
Pekka Rinne ($21,900) - Has to be the safest option on the board tonight. Pekka has won 6 of his last 7 games and is allowing under 2 goals per game this season. Nashville is 6-1-1 at home and I expect them to improve on that mark with Florida in town.
Reto Berra ($12,950) - While Colorado have not been playing great Berra is still a -155 money line favorite to win and this price is just way too cheap for any starting goalie. He should get the win and as long as he doesn’t get blown up he will pay off this clearance price.
Others: Antti Raanta, Braden Holtby
Centers:
Evgeni Malkin ($14,950) - Malkin is really heating up with 5 points in his last 3 games. Patric Hornqvist was moved down to the second line in Pittsburgh to give Malkin some help and it is working wonders. It is often a good idea to take 2nd line players on the road since the home team gets to dictate the matchups and put their top defensive unit against the other teams top scorers.
Mike Ribeiro ($10,200) - Gets a great matchup tonight with Florida in town. Nashville is scoring more than any of us thought and Ribiero has proven to be very consistent. His upside is not there for GPPs but he very rarely will let you down for cash games. I look for Nashville to score 3-4 goals and Ribiero is usually in the mix when they do.
Others: Johnathan Toews, Joe Thronton
Left Wing:
Matt Duchene ($12,000) - Colorado is in a great spot today and Duchene comes in at a great price for a player with his talent. Duchene is centering the top line and gets all of the power play time with the first unit. Colorado is expected to win this game and if I had to pick one guy from their team to play it would be Duchene.
Blake Comeau ($5,600) - Comes in at a great value. He is skating with Crosby and Kunitz at even strength and that is a spot to envy. Any player in this position is in play as the defense is always focused on the other two. Crosby is a very unselfish superstar and loves to get his line mates opportunities.
Others: Patrick Marleau, Brandon Saad
Right Wing:
Marian Gaborik ($9,700) - This price is rising but not nearly at the rate it needs to. Until he reaches the 11-12k range he is always in play as he is finally healthy and skating with Anze Kopitar. Dallas has struggled in their last 10 games going 3-7 and a surprising 2-5-4 at home.
Tom Wilson ($5,000) - Is skating with Ovechkin and Backstrom. He has not produced anything given this role but I am not giving up on him at minimum price, Wilson is in a great spot to pick up an assist or two skating with these studs. He doesn’t need much to pay off this price.
Others: Patric Hornqvist, Kyle Okposo
Defense:
Mike Green ($10,300) - Green is running the point on the Capitals power play. Buffalo often finds themselves on a man disadvantage and the Washington power play is 3rd in the league at 24.1%. This is a unit I will be targeting heavily tonight and I would suggest you do the same.
Justin Braun ($6,150) - Is averaging over 21 minutes of ice time per game and is a blocked shot monster. The Sharks have a favorable matchup tonight and anyone getting this much ice time on a team that is favored by this much is a great play.
Others: Damon Severson, Roman Josi
