Fantasy Hockey Picks 11-1-14
These fantasy hockey picks will help you crush the competition on the ice!
The schedule is jam packed with 12 exciting games tonight. Later in the season, Saturdays will consist of afternoon and evening split schedule so let’s take advantage while we can.
Goalies:
Marc-Andre Fleury ($22,950) -Fleury should be a stone cold LOCK for the win. If Pittsburgh loses this game tonight I will be in complete shock. Anytime the Penguins are at home they are always in play, and the fact that they play Buffalo makes this situation great. Vegas has Pitt at -420 to win this game and that is the biggest I have ever seen for a professional sports game in any sport.
Steve Mason ($15,050) - Mason has been dreadful early this season but he is bound to turn it around tonight. Having allowed 3.60 goals per game, I may be nuts to consider him. However, the matchup is great and the price allows you to play the heavy hitters for Pittsburgh.
Others: Cory Schneider, Henrik Lundqvist
Centers:
Sidney Crosby ($17,400) - I don’t care what you have to do to play him today. If you avoid the top players for Pittsburgh you are taking a huge risk that I can’t condone.
Antoine Vermette ($7,350) - This Arizona team to going to start scoring at some point this and they have a great opportunity tonight. This will be the cheapest Vermette will be all season long. Being at Carolina with Cam Ward expected to be in net is a great situation to take advantage of with this depressed price.
Others:Joe Thornton, Alex Killorn
Left Wing:
Chris Kreider ($10,500) - Is being moved up to the second line to skate with Martin St. Louis who is an amazing set-up guy for his line mates. Kreider is still polishing his skills but he has them all in the toolbox. This will be the year he breaks out and at home vs the Jets is a good place to play him.
Pascal Dupuis ($8,850) - This will get you exposure to the top 6 in Pittsburgh without breaking the bank. I will be playing the maximum number of Penguins the site allows tonight and it seems foolish to not do the same.
Others: Patrick Marleau, Evgeny Kuneztov
Right Wing:
Radim Vrbata ($11,750) - Vrabata is benefitting immensely from skating with the Sedin twins. He is being set up for beautiful scoring chances everytime he is on the ice with these two. The price will not kill you tonight and Vrbata should be in for a good game.
Jeff Skinner ($10,900) - Eric Staal is back and this has a huge impact on Skinner. This skating line was the only bright spot on the Hurricanes last season and it looks to be the same way this year. Mike Smith has played terribly this season and should be the opposing goalie tonight.
Others: Rick Nash, Shane Doan
Defense:
Damon Severson ($5,000) - Sorry to write about this kid everyday, but now his price has dropped. At minimum salary he is averaging more fantasy points per game that guys that cost more than double his salary. With the backup goalie in for Columbus take advantage of this price to get those Penguins in.
Dougie Hamilton ($9,500) - Will be on the ice for 25 minutes or more tonight. OTT plays a very fast paced game and with the Bruins blue line banged up Hamilton will need to be on the ice. He is getting all of the power play time with the top unit as well.
Others: Lubomir Visnovsky, Dan Giradi
