NFL Week 6 Fantasy Football Top Plays
Quarterback
Russell Wilson
Salary $14,850
QB
SEA VS ATL
Russell Wilson has been battling injuries and is not 100%, but he’s coming off a bye week, so he’ll be well rested and ready for this contest. He will be going up against a Falcons’ offense that has looked phenomenal to start the year, but Wilson doesn’t have to go against their offense. He has to go up against their defense, which has been pretty bad this season. They have allowed 1,516 passing yards (6th in NFL), 14 touchdown passes (T-1st in NFL) and the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Wilson has one gorgeous matchup and will be playing at home, so I’m expecting a big performance from him this week.
Brian Hoyer
Salary $13,850
QB
CHI VS JAX
If Cutler is out, yet again, I’ll be all over Brian Hoyer. In three starts this season, he has looked amazing (fantasy wise). He has at least 40 attempts in two of those games and has also thrown six touchdown passes and zero interceptions. I don’t know, but it looks like Hoyer could be the starter the rest of the season, if he keeps putting up numbers like that! With not a lot of great options at quarterback, I love the idea of saving money and going with Hoyer. Oh yeah — he’ll also be playing at home against a Jaguars’ defense that has allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.
Running Back
Le’Veon Bell
Salary $20,700
RB
PIT @ MIA
Le’Veon Bell might cost you an arm and a leg, but boy, he’s in one heck of a spot. He’ll be going against a Dolphins’ defense, who has struggled stopping the run. They have allowed a total of 657 rushing yards (most in NFL) and I see Bell out there running zig-zags against this squad. This guy is great and has a gorgeous matchup, so if you have the money, get him!
Lamar Miller
Salary $11,350
RB
HOU VS IND
Ryan Mathews, Isaiah Crowell, Spencer Ware and Christine Michael are all more expensive than Miller! I texted him last night breaking the news to him and he couldn’t believe it. He told me that this was his week, and I believe him.
He is still getting a ton of touches and draws a favorable matchup against the Colts. They have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs, so look for him to capitalize on this matchup. He’s so cheap, it’s hard to fade him!
Wide Receiver
Kelvin Benjamin
Salary $15,450
WR
CAR @ NO
So I’m going to be honest with you. I’m in love with Antonio Brown this week (who isn’t), but he’s just so expensive! He’s going to cost you over 22k and it’s going to be pretty difficult to build a team around him, especially if you want Bell on your squad. So, I’ll go ahead and give you my next favorite option on the slate, which is Kelvin Benjamin.
Not only do you save a whole lot of money by going Benjamin, but he’s also in a terrific spot. He’ll be going up against a Saints’ defense that we all know gives up a ton of real-life and fantasy points. They are always a great matchup for wide receivers and with Cam Newton likely to play Sunday, it only attracts me to Kelvin even more.
Jeremy Maclin
Salary $12,500
WR
KC @ OAK
That Raiders’ offense sure is scoring a ton of points on a weekly basis, but they are also allowing quite a few in return. Opponents are averaging 27.4 points per game against them (27th in NFL) and they have also allowed the most passing yards this season. They clearly have struggled defending the pass, which is why I like Maclin this week. I know Alex Smith isn’t a fantasy-friendly quarterback, but it’s hard to ignore Maclin’s talent, matchup and the fact that he’s averaging 9.3 targets per game.
Tight End
Jimmy Graham
Salary $11,400
TE
SEA VS ATL
So is the Jimmy that we were all accustomed to seeing in New Orleans finally back into our lives? It sure looks like it! In his last two games, he’s been on an absolute tear! He’s hauled in 12 of his 17 targets, for 213 yards and a touchdown! He and Russell Wilson seem in sync with each other, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Graham had another 100 yard day (he’s had two consecutive weeks of at least 100 receiving yards).
Delanie Walker
Salary $11,450
TE
TEN VS CLE
Delanie Walker will be going up against one of the worse defenses in the league against opposing tight ends? Sign me up!
The Browns haven’t just been bad against tight ends, they’ve been awful! They have allowed a total of 501 yards against them! Behind them is the Cowboys and they’re all the way at 397. Ouch…
Not only is this matchup gorgeous, but so is the fact that Walker is one of the best tight ends in the league and has major upside.
D/ST
Titans (Ten)
Salary $6,350
D/ST
TEN VS CLE
Everyone has been talking about the Vikings’ defense, but don’t sleep on the Titans. They are obviously not on the same level, but the Titans have been very good. They have forced a turnover in four of their five games this season and have also recorded 12 sacks (T-8th in NFL). They have been very impressive and are going up against a team that can’t find an answer at the quarterback position.
Steelers (Pit)
Salary $5,300
D/ST
PIT @ MIA
Oh Miami….. They have so many issues right now it’s hard not to go with the Steelers, especially at that price! They have struggled protecting Tannehill (17 sacks on year) and have been unable to get anything going offensively. I see that trend continuing this week, which is why myself and many other DFS players will be all over this Steelers’ defense.
