Daily Fantasy Baseball Top Picks
The Mets went Hamels on Cole.
Last night was a rare epic meltdown by nearly every viable daily fantasy baseball pitcher.
Our hitting picks worked out well enough, but we unfortunately went into negative points with our pitching. All-in-all it was an extremely disappointing development because with even five fantasy points from the pitcher I chose I could have went from a break even daily fantasy baseball night to a winner. Tonight has very few elite daily fantasy baseball pitching options that scream no-brainer, which means we’ll have to dig deep to discover our best chances of taking down our daily fantasy baseball contests.
Try and take me out with your best daily fantasy baseball roster in one of the $1 +.10 Head to Head games I’m sitting in. I’m also geared up for some exhilarating large field daily fantasy baseball tourney action in the $5 +.50 Throwdown. Don’t forget to join the MLB Freeroll either, it’s free money! I’ll be on Twitter as the action unfolds so shoot me a tweet and talk some smack!
Daily Fantasy Baseball Weather Alert
Astros @ Cubs - 30% chance of storms. Red Sox @ Tigers - 30% chance of storms. Twins @ Indians - 30% chance of storms.
Pitcher
Travis Wood - $9300 - Extremely consistent and faces an Astros team that strikes out a ton.
Big bats are the name of today’s game. Or is it baseball? I’m not sure…..
Tim Hudson - $8200 - Stellar over the past month and has a bargain price tag for a solid pitcher.
Catcher
J.P. Arencibia - $5900 - His recent play combined with a bargain price tag make a him a solid play regardless of matchup.
Joe Mauer - $6700 - Batting over .300 against righties.
First Base
Adam Lind - $8000 - One of the hottest players in the league and gets to tee off on another right-hander tonight.
Justin Morneau - $6200 - Hitting right-handed pitching at a clip over .300
Second Base
Brian Dozier - $5700 - On fire the past week. His price tag makes him a solid start regardless of matchup.
Third Base
Evan Longoria - $7700 - Big bat that will be in every lineup of mine tonight. Mashes right-handed pitching.
Miguel Cabrera - $9900 - Boston starting pitching has reason to be scared today. Miggy is heating up again.
Shortstop
Joaquin Arias - $3100 - Shortstop is a great place to save money for the big bats today. Arias can get you a point or two.
Macier Izturis - $4100 - Playing extremely well over the past week. His value can help you fill your lineup with studs.
Outfield
Chris Davis - $9500 - Fighting with Adam Lind for the title of hottest hitter in baseball. He’s high-priced and worth every penny.
Gregor Blanco - $6200 - Batting .307 against right-handers.
Ben Revere - $5500 - Consistent value pick with a nice matchup versus suspect right-handed pitching.
Giancarlo Stanton - $8000 - He’s been quiet for a few games, but the excellent matchup against the left-handed Zito affords him the chance to catch ablaze again.
Yasiel Puig - $6700 - As long as he stays at a price tag like this it’s impossible to not consider him.
Today I’ll likely lend some daily fantasy baseball trust to a Colorado Rockies stack. They’re not generally effective on the road, but Dan Haren has been struggling with the long ball and a few of the Rockies players have been heating up at the same time. It’s real potential for a daily fantasy baseball explosion. The real value lies in a Detroit Tigers stack though. Allen Webster owns an 11.74 earned run average, and the Tigers are hitting .302 at home. This one looks as close to a daily fantasy baseball scoring lock as you’ll ever find.
