Daily Fantasy Baseball Top Picks
Michael Young was my saving grace once again.
I started off sizzling in last night’s daily fantasy baseball contests.
Yesterday’s top value pick Michael Young paid off early in a big way that vaulted me ahead in all my matches.Top pitching pick Justin Masterson tossed a gem as well, more than earning his keep. Unfortunately for me, outside of another value pick in Andre Ethier, my specific lineup lost it’s heat by the night’s end. I still managed a respectable score that allowed me to profit from my head-to-head and double up games, but my top 30-40% finish in the large field tournaments I entered was a tad disappointing after sitting at the top of the leaderboard to start the night. The Angels players I suggested really let the ball drop in a plus matchup. All in all though, a great evening as monster performances from Kris Medlen, Ian Kinsler, Yadier Molina, and Adam Lind combined with the aforementioned players gave you a great shot at boosting your wallet if you used my picks.
Try and take me out with your best daily fantasy baseball roster in one of the $1 +.10 Head to Head games I’m sitting in. I’m also geared up for some exhilarating large field daily fantasy baseball tourney action in the $5 +.50 Throwdown. Don’t forget to join the MLB Freeroll either, it’s free money! I’ll be on Twitter as the action unfolds so shoot me a tweet and talk some smack!
Daily Fantasy Baseball Weather Alert
Mets @ Braves - Slight chance of rain.
White Sox @ Twins - Slight chance of thunderstorms throughout.
Pitcher
Mike Minor - $13000 - Opponents hitting only .211 against him, and is averaging eight strikeouts through nine innings. Mets lineup is weak.
I’m banking on the Braves tonight.
Jordan Zimmerman - $12100 - Rockies are significantly worse away from home, and Zimmerman owns 1.06 earned run average in seven home starts this year.
Catcher
Victor Martinez - $5800 - Should turn his plate woes around with an excellent matchup against a shaky John Lackey.
Joe Mauer - $6700 - A meeting with a bad John Danks gives Mauer the edge.
First Base
Justin Morneau - $6100 - Same as with Joe Mauer.
Joey Votto - $7700 - Against a bad right-hander in Brandon Crumpton all the Reds lefties have a huge potential.
Second Base
Ian Kinsler - $6700 - Continues to outplay his price tag since returning from injury.
Jurickson Profar - $4100 - Make sure he’s in the lineup first, but great value with a good pitching matchup. Rangers bats are heating up.
Third Base
Chris Johnson - $4800 - .371 average versus left-handed pitching this season.
Adrian Beltre - $8100 - .346 average in his past seven days. Hits better at home and against right-handed pitching.
Shortstop
Ian Desmond - $6400 - Shortstop selection is poor today, so I’ll go with Desmond who’s been on fire the past month.
Andrelton Simmons - $5600 - Good matchup play here with lack of good shortstop options.
Outfield
Shin-Soo Choo - $6600 - As discussed above, Reds lefties should perform favorably in this matchup.
B.J. Upton - $4300 - Cheap price tag and a decent pitching matchup. Always a boom/bust play but we need value guys with home run potential so we can afford tonight’s top pitching plays.
Jay Bruce - $8700 - one of the hottest bats in the majors and facing bad left-handed pitching in Brandon Crumpton.
Brandon Moss - $5800 - He was quiet last night, but the numbers don’t lie. Moss is still hot and the pitching matchup is primed for him to have another huge night.
The only stacks I’m really liking tonight are the Reds and the super sneaky large field tournament potential of the Oakland Athletics. Josh Lindbolm has been awful this season but it remains to be seen if the Athletics can capitalize on such a deficiency. My bets are yes and I’m predicting the charge will be led by Brandon Moss who’s been red hot in recent weeks. There are no value pitching options I’m in love with tonight, which will make any potential stacking a bit more difficult.
