Daily Fantasy Baseball Top Picks
Pull it together guys!
Daily fantasy baseball is a game of highs and lows, and yesterday was full of low scores as many conventional options flamed out for all players.
The best lineup possible was a Baltimore Orioles stack, which teed off on Jon Lester just as we predicted here. Prince Fielder was one of the day’s biggest disappointments with such an enticing matchup to feed from and nothing to show. Value daily fantasy baseball pitching pick Hector Santiago struck out eight Astros, a number not unexpected. Unfortunately the combination of allowing three earned runs and receiving minimal run support conspired to take away the bonus points for a win which would have moved him from decent value play to game-changer.
Try and take me out with your best daily fantasy baseball roster in one of the $1 +.10 Head to Head games I’m sitting in. I’m also geared up for some exhilarating large field daily fantasy baseball tourney action in the $5 +.50 Throwdown. Don’t forget to join the MLB Freeroll either, it’s free money! I’ll be on Twitter as the action unfolds so shoot me a tweet and talk some smack!

Chicago @ St. Louis - 30% chance of rain.
Pittsburgh @ Cincinatti - 30% chance of rain.
New York Mets @ Atlanta - 30% chance of rain.
Oakland @ Texas - High chance of rain at some point during the game.
Pitcher
Tim Hudson - $9200 - 1.66 earned run average in three starts this month.
Shelby Miller - $13500 - 3.21 earned run average with 91 strikeouts this season.
I’m banking on the Royals and Tim Hudson today.
Catcher
Salvador Perez - $6300 - Playing well and gets Carlos Carrasco and his 15.26 earned run average.
First Base
Billy Butler - $6000 - 6 for 13 with two homers against Carrasco. Batting .364 with seven runs batted in over the past 12 games.
Adam Lind - $6900 - Batting .448 with five homers and 15 runs batted in over his last 21 games. Ridiculous .520 against lefties.
Second Base
Jose Altuve - $6300 - Playing well and a good matchup against Jose Quintana.
Jason Kipnis - $8000 - Hitting .529 with a home run, two doubles, and four runs batted in during the Indians past five games.
Third Base
Michael Young - $4600 - Cheap as ever and a lifetime 19 for 61 against Dan Haren.
Manny Machado - $6500 - Consistent and cheap despite the sub-par matchup.
Shortstop
Ian Desmond - $6700 - Batting .339 against lefties and on fire at the moment.
Jurickson Profar - $4000 - Cheap lineup filler with minimal upside.
Outfield
Alex Gordon - $5800 - Dream matchup against Carrasco and hitting the stuffing out of the ball recently.
Kyle Blanks - $6300 - .327 against lefties. Batting .321 with five home runs and 13 runs batted in his past 15 games.
Chris Davis - $8800 - 5 for 14 against Max Scherzer and is mashing of late.
Ben Revere - $5100 - Value play that’s hitting consistently.
Adam Jones - $7500 - 8 for 15 against Scherzer.
I’m eyeing a Kansas City Royals stack today for those of you who may be feeling brave. Carlos Carrasco has been phenomenally bad and if the Royals can heat the bats up early it could be a thrilling few opening innings. With the Rangers well documented recent struggles it was difficult to not include Dan Straily as a value play. I’ll be interested to see how he fares this evening. Stacking Padres against the struggling Barry Zito could be another risk/reward large field tournament option to consider.
