Top Fantasy Baseball Daily Picks
Yesterday we saw excellent performances from the majority of our top fantasy baseball daily picks!
I managed to take down a few solid prizes with the pitchers in my top fantasy baseball daily picks, and the matchups I recommended mini-stacking paid dividends for those that mixed and matched. Zach McAllister had an excellent outing relative to his price tag, and my favorite team in recent weeks, the Cardinals, didn’t fail to impress. Today starts a fresh week of top fantasy baseball daily picks, so without further ado let’s dive into the action!
Look me up on Twitter and let’s talk about today’s top fantasy baseball daily picks.
Daily Fantasy Baseball Weather Alert
Dodgers @ Cardinals - 30% chance of storms.
Tigers @ Indians - 30% chance of storms.
Yankees @ White Sox - 30% chance of storms.
Twins @ Royals - 30% chance of storms.
Top Fantasy Baseball Daily Picks - Pitchers
Mike Minor $18,000 - It’s been a revolving door all season in regards to who the true “ace” of the Braves rotation is, but at this moment I think the distinction is undeniably Minor’s. He’s coming off an impressive outing where he completely shut down the Colorado offense, and the Nationals are one of the league’s most suspect collection of bats. I see big things for him tonight.
Hisashi Iwakuma - $14,700 - I know the Toronto offense is exceptional, but Iwakuma has been lights out at home this season, and this price tag is something to scoff at. He went seven innings with five strikeouts while allowing only one earned run in a start at Toronto earlier this year, and something tells me he’ll be just fine within the comfortable pitching confines of SafeCo.
Best of the Rest: John Lackey $16,600, Stephen Strasburg $16,600, Andy Petite $10,200.
Top Fantasy Baseball Daily Picks - Catchers
Mike Napoli - $10,100 - Today you’ll see loads of right-handed Red Sox bats in the write-up — and for good reason. Brett Oberholtzer is untested, and this Boston lineup feasts on weak left-handed pitching. Napoli has been hot over the past month and he’s my dark horse pick for a dandy dong this evening.
Best of the Rest: Buster Posey $11,400, A.J. Pierzynski $11,300, Jarrod Saltalmacchia $9,800, Henry Blanco $5,200, Tony Cruz $4,600, Joe Mauer $9,900.
Top Fantasy Baseball Daily Picks - First Basemen
Mark Trumbo - $9,200 - Trumbo is as boom/bust as they come, and looking through his game logs resembles a person continually trying to keep up with an overdrawn checking account. He’s in the midst of a hot streak right now though, and shaky left-hander Martin Perez is in town this evening. Trumbo has as good a chance as anyone of taking one yard tonight.
Best of the Rest: Allen Craig $12,600, Erix Hosmer $12,500, Prince Fielder $10,400, Paul Konerko $8,600, Mitch Moreland $8,000, Matt Adams $6,900, Justin Morneau $9,900.
Top Fantasy Baseball Daily Picks - Second Basemen
Dustin Pedroia - $12,800 - As I mentioned with Napoli above, you’ll see a good number of Red Sox listed today. Pedroia has been slow to pick up steam since the All-Star break, but he’s had a solid week and is a player you can essentially rule out a slump as a factor for.
Best of the Rest: Kyle Seager $12,700, Ian Kinsler $10,800, Howie Kendrick $8,900, Daniel Descalso $9,400.
Top Fantasy Baseball Daily Picks - Third Basemen
Matt Carpenter - $13,200 - Carpenter is one of the most talented players in the league when it comes to getting on base, and he always finds a way to positively contribute even when he’s not hitting well. Tonight all the lefty Cardinals bats should be in heavy use, as Zach Greinke’s struggles away from home are well documented. He’s not the pitcher he has been in recent years, and that perceived value will likely lead to the St. Louis bats being owned far less than they should.
Best of the Rest: Pablo Sandoval $8,900, David Freese $8,600, Chris Nelson $6,900.
Top Fantasy Baseball Daily Picks - Shortstops
Punt: You can pay for a more expensive option if you like, but I’m not impressed with any of the selections on tonight’s short slate. I’ll be waiting for lineup cards to be released so I can choose a cheap player with a good matchup and spot in the order.
Top Fantasy Baseball Daily Picks -Outfielders
Carlos Beltran - $11,600 - After taking a day off to rest yesterday Beltran should be locked and loaded in the Cardinals order, ready to continue his torrid pace. As mentioned with other Cardinals players above, Zach Greinke has struggled this season, but especially on the road. That doesn’t bode well for him against a St. Louis roster that has posted 44 runs in its past four games.
Jon Jay - $8,000 - Jay has quickly become one of my go-to players whenever I see the Cardinals set to square off against mediocre right-handed pitching. Tonight should be a fine game for all St. Louis bats.
Oswaldo Arcia - $7,400 - Arcia has five hits in his past three games. This switch-hitting youngster will have ample opportunity to pick on weak lefty Jeremy Guthrie tonight.
Best of the Rest: Mike Trout $14,600, Torii Hunter $13,600, Alfonso Soriano $12,900, Matt Holliday $12,600, Shane Victorino $12,600, Alex Rios $10,600, Leonys Martin $9,100, Jonny Gomes $8,700, Caleb Gindl $5,300, Kole Calhoun $4,700.

I like A. Sanchez, he’s been incredible against the Indians this year. Hopefully he can get his K’s going again. I think there are a ton of good pitching options today. Unfortunately, that means I need a hell of a lineup. I’ll look you up in H2H tonight.
*puts on shades*
“I’ll see you in hell then.”
I think you’re going to need some shades for that beard as well.
It would only sully its radiant glory.
Arcia doesn’t switch hit boss
Good catch employee. For some reason his RotoWorld profile has him listed hitting switch. Come to think of it though I never have seen him batting right-handed.
