Five Guys Expert NBA Daily Top Picks 3-14-14
Tonight our expert NBA daily top picks revisit a familiar scenario.
Daily fantasy basketball is all about opportunity, and determining exactly how a situation in flux affects its many components is an aspect of the game that requires attention to detail. Observing how teams operate when certain pieces are sidelined can help with forecasting our expert NBA daily top picks, and it’s the best way to take advantage of an underpriced value play.
Luckily for us, tonight’s top overall player has a history that leaves little room for ambiguity. We have an extensive archive to draw from in regards to this particular situation, and that means the price tag is far less expensive than it should be. Remember to keep your eyes open for such things, as being ready to pounce in the first game before the situation is given mainstream attention becomes paramount. You know what they say, “the early bird gets the worm.” With that in mind let’s take a look at tonight’s expert NBA daily top picks.
Five Guys Expert NBA Daily Top Picks
Damian Lillard $11,000 - If you hadn’t figured it out, Lillard is the player I was alluding to above. LaMarcus Aldridge took a nasty spill last game, and the team announced he would be absent for at least the next two contests. Lillard posted a sparkling 27.2 points per game when Aldridge missed extended time last month, and his usage rate spikes up to one of the five highest in the league with the All-Star big man sidelined. Throw in the fact the Pelicans rank in the bottom five in point guard defense and you have the makings of a huge night.
Mike Conley $9,500 - It seems like a daily occurrence where we have a price play that stands out like a sore thumb. Conley doesn’t have a particularly good matchup with the slow-paced, defensively-minded Raptors, but he is a solid option at this price. It’s also worth noting that he had a solid game against them earlier this season.
David Lee $10,300 - Lee’s minutes continue to be curtailed due to injuries, illness, and blowouts. I’m a believer though for what it’s worth, and at this price tag I don’t see how you can afford to hold a grudge. If he plays his normal 35-38 minutes the production will be there, and he’s absolutely decimated the Cavaliers in recent meetings.
Al Jefferson $13,200 - Jefferson remains underpriced, and he’s quietly morphed into one of the more reliable high-end daily fantasy basketball options. Big Al is averaging 27.7 points on 61.5% shooting over his past seven games, and tonight’s fast-paced matchup should give a slight boost to his potential fantasy value.
Blake Griffin $13,800 - One of the more surprising transformations this season, Griffin has ascended from mere star status to a bone fide superstar. With that conversion has come an average of 28.8 points per game on 55.9% shooting since February third. He’s dominated the Jazz over the past two seasons, and with the poor interior defense in Utah I don’t see a reason why he can’t continue his success this evening.
