Fantasy Sports Live Podcast 6-12-14
If you’re looking for the best way to attack tonight’s small slate, the Fantasy Sports Live Podcast is for you!
With only seven games on tap for tonight, DraftDay is still offering great options for daily fantasy play. The $109 Field of Dreams still offers a top prize of $750! Last time I checked, every single person I know would love to get their hands on $750 on a random Thursday night. If you are short on cash you can plan for your future by entering a Qualifier for as little as $5.50, and earn your chance to play for thousands tomorrow night. If your allowance is only $15, you can still parlay that into serious cash. DraftDay has the $15 Knuckleball, with the top scorer taking home $200. The World Cup starts today! You know what that means? NO BATHROOM BREAKS! While you sit around and watch 45+ minutes of Brazil/Croatia, throw a couple entries into the Knuckleball and earn yourself some extra cash for this weekend. Let’s start a new American tradition during the World Cup. Multi-lineup entry. You’re welcome. For just $3.30 you can enter my favorite tournament, the Wiz Walkoff, with a chance at $100! You can enter this bad boy up to ten times. If you do the math, 10 entries will cost you only $33.30, and if you take down the top ten spots, you’ll walk away with $435. Not bad, right? Great, now that I’ve planted the seed, I expect you to make that happen. I can’t wait to see that train of entries take over the leaderboard, and become the first player since the induction of the Fantasy Sports Live Podcast to take all the top spots. If you’re lucky, CrazyGabey and I might even give you credit for all ten.
DraftDay Update
$109 Field of Dreams
We had a few days where pitching was virtually non-existent, but Wednesday brought it back with a vengeance! Taking down the $109 Field of Dreams on the strength of a Yu Darvish (68) /Cole Hamels (51) combo was MrWonderful (201). Following just behind we had mattgoody (197), MD0530 (190), hoop2410 (190), and Fantasy Sports Live’s very own 1ucror (189)! Nicely done!
$15 Knuckleball
It looks like gabbo1313 (257) is a fan of hot streaks, as he rode Andrew McCutcheon and his first-inning dong straight to the top of the $15 Knuckleball. He wasn’t alone, as Bigpoppy tied him at the top behind yet another Darvish/Hamels combo. Strangely enough, we had another tie just one point behind, as madnkrazy and dorkdork1977 tied at 256. Rounding out the top five in last night’s crazy competition was Beemstar33 (242).
$3.30 Wiz Walkoff
In true World Cup fashion, dorkdork1977 and madnkrazy managed to tie once again, this time at the top of the $3.30 Wiz Walkoff leaderboard with the same score of 256. Biggsteve31 (227), Romovers (226), and stephen9678 (222) rounded out the top finishers in this one.
Coming Up Today
As usual, Josh Shepardson is back today with his prophetic Picks to Click article. Yesterday, the Braves and Tigers were popular stack options throughout the industry, and we were all stunned to see the magnificent performance by rookie Tyler Matzek, who went 7 strong innings in his debut at Coors Field. Props to the young fella on a hell of a performance. Nonetheless, Josh did bring you ridiculous value with Cole Hamels, as he went eight impressive innings, punching out 11 Padres en route to a 51-point fantasy night. Rajai Davis provided you solid value as well, stealing a base along with two hits, much like Josh anticipated. Today is another day, and with it comes more game-changing plays from Josh.
Fantasy Sports Live League Update
In a strangely low scoring affair, reneemiller (199) came out on top in CrazyGabey‘s Five Guys League, as she was yet another beneficiary of the deadly Darvish/Hamels duo. But wait, there’s MORE! She wasn’t alone at the top, as thenakedhook (199) continued the World Cup homage by forcing a draw. Following closely behind were rcf5415 (194), who was tied by bsell25, and lionsfan19 (191) finished out the cluttered top five. The buy-in to this game is only a dollar. You can make a name for yourself with that dollar in your pocket, and get a shoutout from us during the Fantasy Sports Live Podcast, or you can be selfish and buy yourself something crappy. Your choice. Think of your future. We’ll see you there tonight.
