Friday is here, and with it comes more great action at DraftDay.
In case you didn’t know, Friday is a huge day in the industry. More games and bigger prize pools. For those of you with an extra zero or two in your salary, the $109 Field of Dreams is the contest you need to enter. The Friday edition of this tournament boasts a $5,000 prize pool, including $2,000 to the winner. Thinking about ordering a pizza and watching the Heat and Pacers tonight? DON’T. (The Spurs are far superior to either team anyways). Eat some leftovers, save your money, and enter the $15 Knuckleball ($500 first place prize for those of you who don’t hang out with the cool kids). My favorite tournament, and one that anyone can pony up for is the $3.30 Wiz Walkoff. First place guarantees a date with Mr. Benjamin Franklin ($100 bill, see what I did there?). The more Benjamins you have laying around, the better your chances at finding a real date. See how this works? Friday is a day you can’t afford to miss in the DFS industry. Tell your boss you have bird flu and get to work on those lineups.
DraftDay Update
$109 Field of Dreams
In one of the strangest scoring nights we’ve seen recently, Thursday’s Field of Dreams was corralled by Boc4life (209). Erick Aybar (53) and Aaron Hill (44) went yard for him, and recent daily fantasy hero AJ Pollock posted another phenomenal line (38) to to close the deal. Second place finisher dbsultan (181) was a big fan of the Angels last night, taking advantage of the Mike Trout/Kole Calhoun duo’s 68 combined points, as well as Matt Shoemaker‘s 31 points from the mound. Closing out the top finishers were mattgoody (161), quietwinner (155), and ALLOFIT29 (151).
$15 Knuckleball
Last night’s Knuckleball was a completely different story, as hufty1980 (288) laid the smack down on the field. He took advantage of 32 points from Ubaldo Jimenez, Jose Bautista, Kyle Seager, and Salvador Perez en route to the tournament win. Fatneck58 (242) took town second place in true Buffalo Bills fashion, as Zack Wheeler mowed down nine Phillies during his 49 point performance. Spots 3-5 were held by pandersen423 (240), scoregasmic (235), and bosoxx34 (231).
$3.30 Wiz Walkoff
We had a familiar face at the top of the Wiz Walkoff leaderboard, as rsible (242) was the only GPP winner who took advantage of Edwin Encarnacion‘s FIFTH double-dong day since May 8th. Quick shoutout to my boy, George Springer for his dong contribution as well. Finding his way into the money once again was scoregasmic twice (235), who also took advantage of E5′s historic run through the month of May. Coming in with 230 points in 4th place was krieg17, followed by a tie for fifth at 224 between jkelly1 and JoeyBats19, who managed to make it here without the help of his homeboy Jose Bautista.
Coming Up Today
You are in for a treat today, as Josh Shepardson once again brings you his MLB Picks to Click article. It not only breaks down each position for tonight’s games, but gives you options to choose from. Josh is kind enough to provide you with his top pick AND a value play at each position. If you’re strapped for time and can’t research your lineups, or just want some additional material, you can’t afford to miss out!
In case you missed it, I brought you my take on what would go down in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals last night. Did I make a fool of myself? Find out here.
Fantasy Sports Live League Update
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention CrazyGabey‘s Five Guys league, which was won last night by scoregasmic and that same solid 235 point lineup he used all over the site. Also clinching their spots in Saturday’s freeroll were rockchalk88 (218), nedjays (174), mattgoody (161), and MattTrus223 (148). Tonight is your last chance to finish in the top five and clinch your spot in Saturday’s freeroll. I know I’ll be there. If nothing else, come battle CrazyGabey and I in the 50/50 format, double your money, and fight for some bragging rights!
