Fantasy Golf Value Picks The Barclays
This week’s fantasy golf value picks have The Barclays in mind.
The course made it’s debut on the PGA Tour in 2009 — to mixed reviews from some of the world’s top golfers. Many fantasy golf value picks felt the ability to read the greens was daunting to say the least, and even Tiger Woods had critical words. Flash forward to 2013 and 12 greens have been modified, either being completely re-shaped or re-built in some fashion. Our fantasy golf value picks will be greeted by the 7,346 yard gauntlet tomorrow morning while playing to the tune of a par 71.
Fantasy Golf Value Picks
Rickie Fowler $15,200 - Fowler is my dark horse pick to win the whole shebang. While less celebrated than many of the fantasy golf value picks ranked ahead of him, Fowler has provided a consistent touch over the past two months finishing in the top-25 in six of his last seven starts.
Jason Day $18,100 - Day is a name that’s on the tip of many an expert’s tongue this week, and for good reason. He finished T8 at Oak Hill a couple weeks back, and he’s riding 21 consecutive made cuts in a row. Throw in his six top-10 finishes this season and you have an excellent all around play.
Tiger Woods $23,900 - You’d be hard-pressed to find a team I’m entering without Woods on it. Fresh off a practice week to fine-tune his game how could he be anything less than the odds-on favorite to take home the top prize?
Phil Mickelson $16,600 - Lefty is having one of the best seasons of anyone on the tour. He’s won two events (including a Major), finished runner-up twice, and third as many times to boot. As a member of Liberty National my guess is that Mickelson is more familiar with this course than his peers.
Adam Scott $20,400 - It’s tough to argue against Scott. He plays well in almost every event he enters while providing a steadying presence among the other fantasy golf value picks in your lineup.
Brandt Snedeker $15,200 - For the last of my fantasy golf value picks I wanted to find someone who could function as stud lubricant in a star-laden roster. Snedeker fits the bill with his underpiced salary, and by now we are all well aware of the tremendous upside he possesses. He’s ranked as the 10th overall golfer in the tournament, but his value certainly doesn’t reflect that.
