Fantasy Golf Strategy Bridgestone Invitational Top Picks
Last week’s daily fantasy golf strategy was spot-on!
My fantasy golf strategy picks closed out the tournament in style, with Brandt Snedeker topping the field. I managed to finish first place in all the head-to-head, double-up, and large tournaments I entered. The exception was the 200-player freeroll, where I took the second spot. I’m looking to build on what has been a very successful first month of daily golf strategy, so let’s take a look and see what we’re up against this week!
The Bridgestone Invitational will bring the world’s best to Akron, Ohio this week. The Firestone Country Club boasts 7,400 yards to a par 70. One important aspect to keep in mind for this tournament is that there is no cut. Unless a golfer withdraws of his own accord all contestants will see a full four rounds of competition. The weather is shaping up nicely for the event with temperatures looking to settle in the mid-70s, and no wind to speak of.
Fantasy Golf Strategy - Top Picks
Martin Kaymer - $11,200 - Not everyone can lay claim to a previous number one world ranking, and though he now sits at 36th it’s only a matter of time before things even out. He’s definitely been picking his game up over the past month.
Henrik Stenson - $17,500 - Stenson is on fire as of a late. He’s coming off a runner-up finish his last time out at the British Open, and sits as my pick to win the whole shebang.
Bubba Watson - $19,800 - Watson hasn’t missed a cut in seven events and has finished no worse than T37 in those starts.
Bill Haas - $15,500 - Haas is tied with Brandt Snedeker for most top-10 finishes on tour this year with eight. He’s finished well at Firestone in previous years.
Jamie Donaldson - $5,200 - This little known European Tour standout finished top-32 in both the U.S. and British Opens. He’s made the cut in five of his eight PGA Tour outings this season to boot, and all eight of his European Tour starts lasted went four days. For those counting at home that’s an extremely strong portfolio of 13/16 made cuts in professional play this year.
Paul Casey - $3,600 - Why not take a chance on the former number three ranked player in the world at this price? He hasn’t looked the same since returning from shoulder surgery, but he did pick up a win this past month at the Irish Invitational on the European Tour. He may be rounding back into form and I guarantee you no one else will have him. He’s the definition of a fantasy golf strategy high upside pick.
Luke Donald - $13,700 - Donald has finished in the top-10 during his past two visits here, and his style of play is perfectly suited to the course.
Tiger Woods - $20,500 - He’s worth ponying up for this week, as the price tag is much less volatile than other golfers of his caliber. He’s experienced great success at this course in the past.
