Fantasy Basketball Picks 2-10-15
These fantasy basketball picks will guide your lineups to the top of the leaderboard tonight!
These plays are intended to help you gain a solid return on salary (at least 2.5X, with the ideal level being 3x or higher) with each player you roster. Sometimes I will highlight a minimum salary player, and the intent is to maximize the number of roster spots where you have potential to hit 3X salary. Keep in mind that a minimum-priced player on DraftDay is even more valuable than a minimum-salary player elsewhere, due to the large gap in pricing with a $100,000 cap. Another key to remember is that in DFS, late injury news can be HUGE when deciding your final rosters. Just because someone was a great play in the morning doesn’t necessarily mean that better options won’t arise throughout the day. Monitor Twitter closely before locking in your lineups.
Today’s Top Plays
Guard:
Derrick Rose ($12,900) vs Sacramento – Darren Collison is OUT once again, which means that Rose will be matched up with Ramon Sessions tonight. Rose is the forgotten man many nights, but with a small 5-game slate, I’m looking to lock in safe plays with upside. Rose has at least 24.50 FP in 15 consecutive games, including 3 games with 40+. He makes for a great play tonight..
Mike Conley ($12,700) vs Brooklyn – Conley looks to be fully healthy, with averages of 18/3.5/6.5 over his last two games, and now draws a plus matchup against Jarrett Jack and Deron Williams, neither of which have been known for their defense. The value on Memphis is very concentrated, which is why I don’t mind targeting Conley in a game with just a 190 point total.
Jordan Clarkson ($8,100) vs Denver –While the masses flock to Ramon Sessions, if you’re looking for a GPP swerve, Clarkson is your guy. He has averaged 17/4/5 over his last two games, and will see Ty Lawson tonight, who is yet another PG not known for his defense. Clarkson has shown flashes of potential, and has played at 58 minutes over his last two games.
James Harden ($20,400) at Phoenix - I’ll go ahead and get this out of the way. If you’re playing tonight, you’re playing James Harden. He is averaging 48.5 FP per game and now draws a Suns team that plays at the second-highest pace in the NBA. This one is a no-brainer.
Forward:
Trevor Ariza ($12,550) at Phoenix - If you have been playing DFS over the last few weeks, you know how well Ariza has been playing. He has at least 30 FP in 4 straight games, and has played at least 39 minutes in three of those contests. He is a lock for my cash games tonight.
Gerald Henderson ($9,750) vs Detroit - Henderson is another player who is producing at a very high level. His usage takes a big leap with Kemba Walker out, and he has at least 31 FP in 3 straight games. Not only that, but he is producing in all categories, with 12 rebounds and 17 assists over his last two games. He is far too cheap tonight considering his recent production.
Pau Gasol ($17,850) vs Sacramento - Gasol’s resurgence this year has been enormous for the Bulls, and he is showing no signs of slowing down. In his last 9 games, Gasol has at least 38 FP, including 4 with at least 49 FP. Tonight he’ll draw Jason Thompson and company at PF for the Kings, which has been a problem spot for them all year long. I expect Gasol to have a big game while once again flying under the radar.
Markieff Morris ($10,950) vs Houston - “Chief Kieff” is coming off of an abysmal 3-20 shooting night, but will draw the soft interior defense of the Rockets tonight. He is capable of filling up the stat sheet, and his price is as low as I have seen all season. There is risk here, because he has struggled recently, but this is the type of game that can get him back on track.
Center:
Al Jefferson ($14,950) vs Detroit - “Big Al” looks like he is finally back, and just in time to match up with Andre Drummond down low. Jefferson is coming off his best game since his injury, with a 30/13 line against the Pacers. Drummond has been very beatable down low, and I expect Jefferson to not only stretch the floor, but potentially force him into some foul trouble as well.
