Expert Basketball Daily Top Picks 3-21-14
Hopefully our expert basketball daily top picks keep their big mouths shut tonight.
Thanks a lot Josh smith, I appreciate it. Wednesday night saw J-Smoove as the top overall play in our expert basketball daily top picks. In a moment of Smith-esque brilliance, Josh was tossed from the game for picking up two technical fouls in under one minute. I hope you’ll let me off the hook a little bit, as predicting daily fantasy meltdowns is a subject in which I am lacking advanced metrics.
At the end of the day though it’s all a part of the variance that makes our game predominantly skill-based, and though it stings in the moment it’s definitely best to let it go and withhold from developing grudges. This is a perfect opportunity to mention the article I just wrote on avoiding tilt, as that specific circumstance had many daily fantasy players tilting across social media. Life continues on, and so must we. On that note let’s examine tonight’s expert basketball daily top picks.
Five Guys Expert Basketball Daily Top Picks
Joakim Noah $13,100 - How can you possibly pass him up at this point? Every night sees him flirting with a triple-double, and the Pacers have been a hot mess since the All-Star break. Indiana was the consensus best defense in the NBA during the first half of the season, but lately they’ve been unable to stop anyone, especially when it counts. Roy Hibbert looks painfully slow and his rebounding prowess has become a running joke. With Noah’s fast and furious style of play it’s a good bet that he’ll simply outwork big Roy this evening.
Eric Bledsoe $10,500 - If you look at the schedule for the Suns over the past 10 days, it’s easy to see why Bledsoe’s minutes have been limited towards the end of the stretch. With two days rest I could easily see him playing 30 minutes this evening, and if he’s able to pull in that kind of burn there’s no reason why he can’t exceed value on this price tag.
Tim Duncan $10,700 - Vegas projects this game to be much closer than I would think, and the Kings are substantially more competitive at home. Duncan in his career however has been a Sacramento killer. I would imagine Kings fans go to bed having nightmares of Timmy and Popovich, and with a very modest price tag I can’t see the harm in suiting him up in my rosters. At worst you can late swap him out should he become a surprise scratch.
Jeff Teague $11,200 - With no clear-cut direction for point guard play this evening I think Teague is a sneaky candidate to be a top scorer at the position. He’s posted 25.0 points per game in his last five home contests, and the Pelicans are bottom five against opposing signal callers.
Shawn Marion $7,400 - I understand this makes you nervous, and I’m not too happy about it either. The bottom line is that Marion has too much talent to be as bad as he’s been the past month. It’s been three solid games with a solid complement of minutes for the veteran now, and at this price point and considering the matchup I don’t think you can go wrong.
