Podcast Guest: Drew Dinkmeyer
Drew Dinkmeyer is one of the biggest names in daily fantasy sports. His story has been shared on numerous media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and NPR. He joins CrazyGabey on the podcast today to talk about three-year weighted averages, and how he believes they are the best predictive tool available to daily players.
DraftDay Update
Today is known as “travel day” for many MLB teams, as it was so eloquently put by CrazyGabey. Don’t worry, there is still a solid seven game slate of games for you to play at DraftDay tonight. The $109 Field of Dreams is a near obligation for those who can afford to pony up the cash. I say obligation because there has been overlay in this tournament each of the last two nights. Your chances of cashing increase without any effort from you. If you can’t afford the cash, enter a Qualifier for as little as $5.50 and WIN your way in. Guess what? CrazyGabey won himself a ticket yesterday. If he can do it, anyone can. Anyway, the middle-class of tournaments is the $15 Knuckleball, with a $1,000 prize pool. The $3.30 Wiz Walkoff is the bar-none, no excuses tournament. We all have $3.30, and we all have a 97% chance of spending it on something irresponsible today. I’m citing the internet for those numbers. She has never let me down before. Before I get sidetracked, just enter the $3.30 Wiz Walkoff and come battle it out with the Fantasy Sports Live crew. Finish in the top five of any featured tournament and you will receive a king’s (or queen’s) treatment on our daily fantasy sports podcast in the form of a shoutout. Some prizes can’t be bought. This is one you can cherish forever.
$109 Field of Dreams
The morning slate was a surprisingly high-scoring battle, as mtrealtalk (318) was alone atop the Field of Dreams. AngryFish (258) and hoop2410 (253) also took home some cash. Each one of these lineups had Tyson Ross, whose 71 points were a main staple on most winning lineups.
ALLOFIT29 (245) took down the Field of Dreams on Wednesday evening in a fashion he may not have expected. An Adam Wainwright/Julio Teheran combo was adequate with 66 points. His cheapest player, Mookie Betts, was his top scorer with 42. On a low scoring night, Golf_Coach (207) came in right behind, followed by MrWonderful (196).
$15 Knuckleball
In the morning slate, griff2430 (295) took down the Knuckleball with a solid Ross/Moss combo that netted 122 points. UpperDeckers (279), AngryFish (258), hoop2410 (253), and mtneer1212 (250) rounded out the money.
Overcoming Cole Hamels and his 5 point outing last night was not an easy task for many, but one that was no problem for Knuckleball winner cshaw420 (279). He rolled out the aforementioned Mookie Betts (42), and used Adam Jones (44) and Wellington Castillo (42) as his diamonds in the rough. Rounding out the winners were itisnathan (263), gabbo1313 (252), dooger1234 (251), and Ballerzzz81 (241).
$3.30 Wiz Walkoff
Early edition of the Wiz Walkoff belonged to DavisMattek (311) behind 4 home runs and Tyson Ross‘ 71 points. OldIrish (305), CrazyGabey (296), cwolford (289), and PapaCub (266) rounded out the big money.
Wab80 (299) rolled out all of the young talent on his way to the top of the Wiz Walkoff last night, led by Gregory Polanco (52), Darwin Barney (49) and Mike Olt (47). Hell of a job. Coming in second through fifth were cpavlik (287), cshaw420 (279), uratool (263), and itisnathan (248).

Today’s Strategy Content
Josh Shepardson is always the first person I mention here, because the guy absolutely crushes it each night. He told everyone to be on Julio Teheran last night instead of Cole Hamels, and that strategy paid off big time, as Hamels imploded, posting just 5 points. We cover some of his picks each day on the daily fantasy sports podcast, and go back over them on the live show around 6:45 Eastern each night.
We will see you back here at 6 PM for the live show with CrazyGabey and myself!
