Fantasy Football Injury Report - Week 15
The Week 15 fantasy football injury report has updated information about all the key injuries!
It has been a tumultuous NFL season to this point, with star players dropping like flies each week. Listen, I know you’re busy and can’t keep up with every single piece of information that comes out regarding an injury. That’s where I come in. I’ll break down the latest injury news for each game so that you won’t have to build your lineups in fear of the dreaded “Q” designation. Let’s kick things off with the 1 P.M. Eastern Games:
Steelers at Falcons
GAME-TIME DECISION - Julio Jones (hip) - Jones is currently on the field warming up and testing his hip as of 10 A.M. Eastern time. The Falcons have stressed that he is a “True Game-Time Decision”. We likely won’t know his status until right before kickoff. Look toward Harry Douglas as a cheap sleeper option if Julio isn’t able to play. UPDATE: Some reports have surfaced that he will NOT play today. Check for official updates before lock.
Packers at Bills
PROBABLE: Eddie Lacy - (hip) - Word is that Lacy will play today, but his workload will be monitored. He doesn’t have the look of a player that I’ll be rostering at his hefty price tag today. James Starks makes for an intriguing cheap option, as he should see 10-12 touches, but he is only viable in GPPs.
Buccaneers at Panthers
OUT: Cam Newton (back)- After the unfortunate circumstance with Newton being involved in a serious car accident, he won’t be able to play this week, and Derek Anderson will start in his absence. He is bare minimum salary and facing a terrible Tampa Bay secondary. Fire him up as an elite option, price considered.
QUESTIONABLE: Bobby Rainey (ankle) and Austin Seferian-Jenkins (back) - Both players are listed as questionable, but will likely play. You weren’t targeting either one anyway. Move along.
DOUBTFUL: DeAngelo Williams (hand) - The Panthers still have Williams listed as “Doubtful”, but considering he has a broken hand, I can’t imagine he will play. Jonathan Stewart was phenomenal last week, and draws another good matchup.
Jaguars at Ravens
OUT: Denard Robinson (foot) - Robinson is on Injured Reserve with a foot injury, and there looks to be a timeshare between Toby Gerhart, Jordan Todman, and Storm Johnson. This isn’t a backfield I want any part of against a tough Ravens front seven.
QUESTIONABLE: Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) - The jury is still out on this one, but he has very limited value anyway. Justin Forsett may pick up an extra carry or two, but nothing significant to see here.
PROBABLE: Torrey Smith (knee) - The Ravens have indicated that he may play, but this seems to be another situation to avoid. He likely won’t be 100% even if he does suit up. Steve Smith Jr. is the play here.
Texans at Colts
UNLIKELY TO PLAY: Andre Johnson (concussion) - Johnson is currently listed as “Questionable”, but reports are surfacing that he will not play. Check back in on this situation for final confirmation. DeAndre Hopkins would get a boost in his absence.
Reggie Wayne looks like he will play through a torn triceps, but isn’t expected to miss any time. T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncreif see a slight bump considering he is less than 100%.
Raiders at Chiefs
PROBABLE: Jamaal Charles (ankle, knee) - Charles is in and looks to be ready to eclipse 10 carries for the first time in three weeks. He is an elite option at RB this week.
Redskins at Giants
QUESTIONABLE: Colt McCoy (neck) - It looks like McCoy will be able to go, and the Redskins couldn’t be happier to avoid Robert Griffin III, according to reports.
OUT: Roy Helu (toe) - The pass-catching specialist will sit this one out. Alfred Morris should see a few more touches, and you can even throw Silas Redd into the mix, but he is nothing more than a desperation GPP play.
Monitor the reports on Rashad Jennings and Andre Williams. It looks like both will play, but reports indicated that Jennings needs at least one more week before he resumes a full workload.
Dolphins at Patriots
QUESTIONABLE: Charles Clay (legs) - It looks likely that Clay will play, but he has been very inconsistent and is reserved for GPP-only play in my book.
4 P.M. Eastern Games
Jets at Titans
QUESTIONABLE: Kendall Wright (hand) - The speedy receiver is headed for a possible game-time decision, but he looks to be on the right side of questionable.
OUT: Zach Mettenberger (shoulder) - Jake Locker will get the start in a game that could feature a historical amount of handoffs on both sides. I’m not interested in Locker this week.
49ers at Seahawks
OUT: Stevie Johnson (knee) - This is an easy one. You weren’t playing him anyway, and no 49ers WR gets a big enough bump against Seattle this week to be playable for me. Even less so when you consider how Colin Kaepernick has been playing.
Broncos at Chargers
DOUBTFUL: Ryan Mathews (ankle)- He is on the wrong side of unlikely. The matchup was tough anyway, and I couldn’t sleep tonight if I recommended Branden Oliver or Donald Brown against a tough Broncos defense.
QUESTIONABLE: Ronnie Hillman (foot) - If Hillman can go, he may assume the second string behind C.J. Anderson, but that’s about it. Stay away.
Vikings at Lions
QUESTIONABLE: Cordarelle Patterson (hamstring) and Reggie Bush (ankle) - Both of these guys could go, but they were nothing more than a shot in the dark in a big tournament anyway. They can be safely avoided.
Monday Night Football
Saints at Bears
OUT: Brandon Marshall - Marshall was placed on IR this week. He is out for the season. Look for an increase for Martellus Bennett, Alshon Jeffery, and Marquess Wilson.
