Our expert fantasy golf plays will be scrambling to make the postseason.
The Wyndham Championship is the last tournament before the FedEx Cup playoffs, and despite a field lacking star power there is still plenty of excitement. With only a few big names making the trek to Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, there will likely be extreme roster overlap with most lineups containing the same “elite” options. That just means this weekend’s expert fantasy golf plays will win the tournament for you in the trenches as sleeper picks.
Join me in the $109 Angry Birdies, the $15 Mulligan, or the $2.20 Big Easy depending on your price point of choice. PickEm games like the $5.50 Back to the Kuchar are a great way to enjoy fantasy golf too!
Expert Fantasy Golf Plays - Wyndham Championship
Ernie Els $19,900 - Els is coming off an impressive weekend. He was a late entry into this event and is the most recognizable name in action. This will make him very popular in tournaments, and given the way he shot Saturday and Sunday at the PGA last week I will be playing him as well.
John Huh $15,250 - He loves this course. It fits his short game skill very well. In his two years of playing this event he finished T3 and T19. I don’t think many will notice this and he will end up being overlooked.
Pat Perez $12,300 - Perez is another great salary relief option. He has been consistently making cuts and putting up solid finishes in these smaller events. With his price tag you can fit in almost anyone you would like this week.
Patrick Rodgers $12,900 - Rodgers is another extremely cheap option. He had a great run at this event last year and really opens up the salary cap. If you pair him with Perez you can play almost any other four golfers of your choice. This is a strategy I like to use in these smaller tournaments.
Bill Haas $20,500 - This one of the higher end options I will be playing this week. Haas is one of the most consistent players in the field.
Francesco Mollinari $17,600 - Mollinari has not missed a cut on the PGA tour since last season’s US Open. He’s playing great as of late and I think this could be his breakout weekend. With six top-10 finishes in 16 events on the PGA tour this season he is a great play.
Have fun everyone and don’t get Kuchar’ed ☹.
