Daily Fantasy Player Interview | stevietpfl
This week’s daily fantasy player interview highlights Stephen “stevietpfl” Young.
Stephen took down the $1,000 top prize in last week’s $5,000 Friday Night Fight guaranteed tournament in addition to qualifying for a seat in the upcoming $100,000 Grand Slam! Stephen was kind enough to do a daily fantasy player interview with us to talk about his big score.
Gabey- Congrats on the chunk of change. Anything in particular you’re putting it towards?
Stephen- Most of it will go back into play in daily leagues. I’m going to use some of it for my flight to Vegas for the RotoGrinders opening weekend party.
G- You went with the Seattle mini-stack as your weapon of choice. What was your reasoning behind that move?
S- Before the All-Star Break the Mariners were hot, and Bud Norris struggles against lefties. Brad Miller batting lead-off for his price was almost automatic for me.
G- When did you realize that you had a good shot at finishing first?
S- After Brad Miller hit his second home run I realized nobody in front of me had Chad Gaudin. He was pitching good so I’m glad I rolled with him.
G- Any close sweats that you were watching until the very end?
S- Yes of course, that Diamondbacks and Giants game. I needed the Gaudin win to lock up first place. In the 8th inning the Diamondbacks had the bases loaded with two outs and Paul Goldschmidt up. I’m glad he missed because he’s usually very clutch.
G- What’s your favorite part of playing at FanThrowdown?
S- My favorite part of the site so far is the salary. It makes it very hard sometimes to make a good lineup, and I feel that gives an advantage to the guys who do the research. I’m one of the biggest grinders on DailyJoust, so with all the recent news I plan on playing a lot more at FanThrowdown.
G- Any advice for our readers who want to take down a big tournament?
S- I would say trust your gut and remember that thinking outside the box in big tournaments sometimes pays off.
G- Thanks for the daily fantasy player interview Stephen!
S- Thank you for the interview and for putting on such a great tournament!
