Fantasy Sports Live Podcast 9-26-14
Today’s DFS Podcast sees us bidding farewell to the fantasy baseball season.
We opened things up today in a bit of a tizzy, and as with all good married couples, Justin and I bickered with the best of them. On last night’s live show, I recommended fading Kirk Cousins and Pierre Garcon, while rostering Alfred Morris. Justin tried to argue that Alfred Morris had a lucky game, while I pointed out that earning a touchdown was fair if you averaged 5.3 yards per carry. The game script called for more passing and less running, which obviously put a damper on his potential. Still, finishing with 18 fantasy points was a fine result. Justin was thoroughly dismantled.
After his shellacking, Justin recovered to run down the featured fantasy baseball winners from last night. We had a wide range of scores among all three featured contests, which was slightly strange.
Next up it was time to discuss Week 4’s Top Five Fantasy Football Sleepers. Josh Shepardson writes this stellar piece every week, and these are the plays you need to take down the biggest tournaments on the site. I chose to talk about the criminally underpriced Chris Ivory, while Justin went with Jordan Matthews. Both players have phenomenal upside for Week 4, and deserve heavy consideration in your fantasy football lineups.
Next up was our final daily fantasy baseball breakdown of the season. The fantasy gods have blessed us with no weather concerns for tonight, which is a nice gesture considering some of what we were forced to endure this season. The Vegas lines seem relatively benign, so there’s nothing that should worry you. I pull my Five Guys from Josh Shepardson’s Picks to Click article, and today I highlighted Jimmy Nelson, Jonathan Lucroy, Adrian Gonzalez, Aramis Ramirez, and Chris Carter. Justin’s Two Cents were Corey Kluber and Travis Snider.
See you next week for another DFS podcast!
