Fantasy Sports Live Podcast 9-25-14
Today’s DFS podcast cover three sports!
It’s always a good time when I can give Justin shit to start the day, but unfortunately I had to give it up to him today instead. We debated Jake Arrieta versus Jake Odorizzi last night, with my argument being the Red Sox lineup looking awful and Odorizzi being significantly cheaper. Boy was I wrong. I did however win my friendly wager with Justin over Kevin Kiermaier’s fantasy production, so at least I could hang my hat on that.
Today’s DFS podcast started with a quick recap of last night’s featured fantasy baseball winners. All the high scores had both Clayton Kershaw and Jake Arrieta. Surprise surprise.
Next up was Patrick James and his sterling college fantasy football analysis. We ceded the floor to him for a few minutes as he went through his favorite NCAA plays for Week 5. If you’re not using his analysis each week your bonkers, as college fantasy football is still an extremely soft game.
We couldn’t go a day without talking fantasy football, so Justin and I discussed Josh Shepardson’s top five fantasy football quarterbacks for Week 4. I chose to go with Ben Roethlisberger and his super soft matchup against the Buccaneers. Justin opted to talk up Drew Brees and his showdown with the historically bad Cowboys defense. Both make great options in your contests this weekend.
Lastly we arrived at daily fantasy baseball analysis. There are two primary weather concerns tonight, with one of them being of the most urgent kind. Make sure your lineups have a contingency plan in place if you plan on starting anyone from those two contests. The Vegas lines are fairly uneventful, which brought us to Josh Shepardson’s Picks to Click. My Five Guys for tonight were Max Scherzer, Adam Dunn, David Ortiz, Travis Snider, and Ben Zobrist. Justin opted for Yusmeiro Petit and Victor Martinez with his Two Cents.
See you tomorrow for our last MLB DFS podcast of the season!
