Fantasy Sports Live Podcast 9-12-14
Today’s fantasy sports daily podcast begins with a surprising twist!
I decided to give Justin props for one of his calls, and as much as it pains me to do so I had no choice. Although I played Francisco Liriano last night, I declared Mike Fiers as the top starter after seeing the RHB-heavy Phillies lineup. Both pitchers had outstanding outings, but Liriano’s was truly elite. Oh well, I must be going soft.
Justin and I kicked things off talking about last night’s featured DraftDay winners, and the lineups were very interesting. That’s usually the case on short slates, and let me just say that Yunel Excobar won’t be getting a Christmas card from me this year.
Next up was Josh Shepardson’s freshly pressed Top Five Fantasy Football Sleepers. Josh has compiled his favorite cheap options that could potentially win you a huge tournament, and you’d be crazy to leave these options off your lineups completely. My favorite on the list was Chris Ivory, and for his bargain bin price tag I’m in love with his prospects this weekend! Justin talked about Brian Quick, and the skilled wideout is certainly an intriguing option in week two.
We moved along to daily fantasy baseball weather concerns, where we found one game to be at great risk this evening. Outside of that one contest though, everything else looks clear. Feel free to target players from the game in risk, just make sure you have an escape hatch built into your lineups. Today’s Vegas lines are extremely interesting, with lots of angles to digest.
Lastly we touched on Josh Shepardson’s fantasy baseball picks, more commonly known as his Picks to Click. I chose to talk about Gerrit Cole, Ben Zobrist, Evan Longoria, Jhonny Peralta, and Mark Trumbo. Justin added his Two Cents with Carlos Carrasco and Howie Kendrick.
See you bright and early tomorrow morning for our NFL podcast!
