Fantasy Hockey Picks 2-3-15
Our expert fantasy hockey picks will lead your team to victory tonight!
Tuesday has become my favorite day of the week this season. The game slate is always 10 or more games and my new job has me off on Wednesdays so I can stay up watching all of the west coast games. Perfect combo. Let’s break it down.
Goalies:
Carey Price: If you can afford him, play him. No explanation needed.
Frederik Andersen ($20,700) - Although the Ducks have dropped their last two games I am not worried. They are still tied for the league lead in points and are great at home. I always give a big bump to a West coast team hosting an East coast team as well. Eastern team really struggle on this California road trip and I see no reason why Carolina would be an exception.
Others: Cory Schneider, Carter Hutton
Centers:
Johnathan Toews ($10,950) - This price tag is simply too low for the talent. Minnesota’s goalie problem has improved a bit with the addition of Devan Dubnyk but I am not sold that he can solve all of their problems. With Toews not being priced with the other top plays he is in play for sure.
Ryan Johansen ($13,200) - “Ryjo” has been ripping shots any chance he can get recently. He has taken 17 shots in the 3 games since the All Star break and has 2 goals to show for it. He is by far the best scorer on Columbus and with the matchup against Mike Smith you must get some exposure to the Blue Jackets.
Others: Paul Statsny, Ryan Getzalf
Left Wing:
Max Pacioretty ($14,250) - Max comes in as my top play of the night. Any time I look to roster any forward from MTL he has to be the first guy to look at. This is a dream matchup and the Habs should be in complete control of this game. Expect plenty of shots on goal even if he doesn’t find the back of the net which makes him a very safe play for cash games.
Brad Richards ($9,300) - Richards is another great value from Chicago this evening. Skating with Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp is a dream spot for a fantasy value play. The savings he provides almost makes him a must play for me.
Others: Daniel Sedin, Jamie Benn
Right Wing:
Filip Forsberg ($12,450) - Toronto just can’t seem to buy a win right now. Nashville is one of the best home teams in the league and even with Carter Hutton in net I expect Nashville to take control of this game early on and never let up. Forsberg is the leading the team with 44 points in the season and always a great place to look when you want a forward from Nashville. One of the more consistent players on the team.
Nathan MacKinnon ($11,000) - Patrick Roy has finally put a real scoring line together and it paid off for MacKinnon last game notching two assists. The Landeskog/O’Reilly/MacKinnon line is full of talent and a line that is capable of putting up multiple goals on any given night. Check the morning skate reports to make sure this line is still together and if it is you can roster with confidence.
Others: Tobias Rieder, Jaromir Jagr
Defense:
P.K Subban/Andrei Markov- I am going to list these two together as I love them both tonight. With the price being close together I prefer Subban as I believe he has more upside but if that price makes a difference Markov is certainly a suitable replacement.
James Wisniewski ($10,300) - He is really getting involved in the power play for Columbus and Arizona has one of the worst penalty killing units in the league. I believe much of this has to do with Mike Smith between the pipes but I don’t really care why the points come in daily fantasy.
Others: John Klingberg, Marek Zidlicky
