Fantasy Hockey Picks 11-6-14
Dominate the field tonight with these top fantasy hockey picks!
The NHL has a HUGE 10 game slate tonight, while the NBA only has 2 games. Many players will “try their luck” with NHL and the competition should be a lot easier tonight.
Goalies:
Tukka Rask ($22,600) - Boston is on a 3 game winning streak and hosting EDM tonight. The Oilers are without their best player (Taylor Hall) and that makes their offense weak. Hall is a threat to score every time on the ice and makes everyone around him better. Boston’s new defensemen now have a few games under their belt and should be more comfortable. Rask is a solid bet each time he takes the ice at home.
Ray Emery ($14,550) - Emery is a big favorite for the win tonight. The Flyers offense is turning it around and giving him plenty of goal support. The Panthers are not a team that lights up the scoreboard and I would be very surprised if he allows more than 2 goals.
Others: Ben Bishop, Brian Elliot
Centers:
Anze Kopitar ($12,900) - Appears to finally be healthy for tonight’s game. He also will be getting Marian Gaborik back on his skating line to provide Jeff Carter with some help on offense. Kopitar should see plenty of shifts against the Islanders’ weak 2nd defense pairing.
Patrice Bergeron ($12,450) - Boston is a big favorite as I mentioned when talking about Tukka Rask. That means vegas expects Boston to put up a few goals and the man most likely to find the score sheet is Bergeron. This could easily be a 2-1 game going into the final minutes and Bergeron is always on the ice for those empty net situations as he is an elite defender at the forward position.
Others: Valtteri Filppula, Logan Couture
Left Wing:
Chris Kunitz ($14,900) - Kunitz is on fire right now. 7 points in his last 3 games is remarkable. Skating beside the best player in the world will always present the opportunities, and Kunitz has been taking advantage. There is no reason his hot streak should stop against Winnipeg.
Daniel Winnik ($7,250) - Winnik is skating on the Leafs top line and this price is just too low. The only concern here is that he does not get any ice time on the power play, but at this price that would just be a bonus. Toronto gets to face Reto Berra tonight who has not played in over 2 weeks.
Others: Matthew Nieto, Pascal Dupuis
Right Wing:
Jakub Voraeck ($13,350) - Voracek as 6 multi-point games in his last 8. This price has not risen nearly enough for this kind of hot streak. Voracek also gets a great matchup with FLA tonight and I can’t find a reason to not roster him.
Tyler Toffoli ($8,750) - Continues to find a way to get it done and his price has dropped. With Kopitar and Gaborik back, the pressure to score and the focus of the defense will be spread among the top two lines for LA and not just the Carter/Toffoli line. This should open up more scoring chances against weaker defenders.
Others: Ryan Callahan, Vladimir Taresenko
Defense:
Kris Letang ($13,650) - Letang is priced like an elite forward and deservedly so. He seems to be looking for his shot the last few games and his fantasy production is showing it. If there are a few cheap forwards you like tonight don’t hesitate to pay up for Letang as he is the top defenseman on the night.
Mark Streit ($8,900) - Is another great option on D tonight. He is getting all of the power play time with the top unit and they should get plenty of chances vs this young Panthers team who tends to take bad penalties.
Others: Jake Muzzin, Cody Franson
