Fantasy Hockey Picks 11-29-14
These fantasy hockey picks will guide you to victory on the ice tonight!
Happy Saturday everyone. Just because there is a plethora of great college football games today doesn’t mean you need to pass up the chance to win money playing pucks!
Goalies:
Carey Price ($20,250) - Make sure he is in the lineup as these two teams had just played last night in Buffalo. If he is out, Dustin Tokarski also makes for an excellent option. The Sabres found a way to pull it out last night but I can’t see it happening again. Montreal is one of the biggest money line favorites you will see in all of professional sports. MTL is tied for the most points in the league and Buffalo is near the bottom. Price should be a very safe option.
Pekka Rinne ($24,400) - Columbus can’t score right now and Pekka would be the favorite for the Vezina if it was given out tomorrow. He is playing great as well as the team in front of him especially at home in Nashville where the team is 9-1-1. He is pricey but should be a lock for the win.
Others: Jake Allen, Karri Ramo
Centers:
John Tavares ($14,400) - Tavares has scored a goal in 3 of his last 4 games and added an assist too. He is playing great right now and New Jersey is coming off an overtime loss last night to Detroit. If their legs are tired at all Tavares is the man you want to take advantage of the situation.
Valterri Filpulla ($9,350) - Ottawa is giving up nearly 35 shots per game this season which means the opposing team is controlling the puck in the offensive zone for most of the game. Flippula is not on the top line with Stamkos anymore but does get the power play time with him which is always a great thing.
Others: Tyler Seguin, Jori Lehtera
Left Wing:
Jamie Benn ($15,600) - The combo of Benn and Seguin are on fire right now. Benn has 9 points in his last 5 games and a matchup against Colorado should not end this streak at all. Colorado should have Pickard in net who hasn’t been able to break into a starters job despite very poor goaltending from Colorado. Take advantage.
Blake Comeau ($8,650) - Has been moved to the 2nd line for Pittsburgh, but that line is actually scoring more than the first line over the last two weeks. Comeau is playing the best hockey of his career and is producing every night. At this price it is very hard to overlook him.
Others: Matt Belesky, James Neal
Right Wing:
Filip Forsberg ($10,750) - Forsberg is by far the leading candidate for the Calder trophy and is playing amazing. Nashville is surprising the entire league with their success, and get to host the Blue Jackets who got embarrassed again last night after pulling their goalie with 5:22 left to play. The Jackets are a complete mess right now and I am looking to target forwards against them every night until something changes.
Tom Wilson ($5,600) - Wilson comes in at near minimum price and is skating with Ovechkin and Backstrom at even strength the whole game. The Capitals really like him there and he seems to have found a place on the top line for good. Before Wilson the RW on this line would change every 3 to 4 games it seems but the chemistry between these 3 is great.
Others: Ryan Callahan, Kyle Okposo
Defense:
P.K Subban ($10,350) - Is in a great spot tonight against Buffalo and his price has decreased. Montreal is going to get revenge after losing to this same team last night. They still have the most points in the Eastern Conference, and there is no way they will sleep on this team for the 2nd night in a row. Subban is MTL’s best offensive defenseman and one of the best in the game. Look for a big game from him tonight.
Olli Maatta ($6,700) - Comes in at a great value after being injured. He loves to put his body on the line and block a ton of shots. This stat often goes overlooked but counts the same as a shot on goal. He is very cheap and getting a nice amount of ice time with explosive offensive players. He is also playing on the 2nd power play unit which is just a bonus for this price.
Others: Matt Niskanen, Justin Braun
