Fantasy Hockey Picks 10-26-14
These fantasy hockey picks will help you dominate NHL while others are focused on NFL!
With everyone’s attention on the NFL today, there is plenty of NHL money out there to be won. Many people will put their lineup together in just a few minutes after doing all of their homework for NFL. Let’s take advantage.
Goalies:
Antti Raanta ($18,250) - Chicago is the team that Vegas has pegged as most likely to get the win tonight. Raanta has a shutout in 1 of the two starts he has made with Crawford injured. Chicago at home should be the safest option tonight which is a huge deal in daily fantasy. The price won’t break the bank, so this is a must play for me.
Others: Ryan Miller, Jon Quick
Centers:
Matt Duchene ($14,650) - Coming off of a 3-point performance on Friday, confidence should be riding high. Colorado is on the road which actually benefits Duchene. The defense will tend to focus on Nathan MacKinnon and company on the teams’ “top line”.
Andrew Shaw ($7,350) - Shaw’s price is climbing at a rate that is much too slow. Take advantage of the value while you can. He is a great discount option for both your GPP and cash game lineups. He remains extremely cheap and continues to see time on the top power play unit of the Blackhawks. I expect Chicago to dominate this game, and for the Ottawa defenseman to take plenty of penalties trying to keep the game close.
Others: Henrik Sedin, William Karlsson
Left Wing:
Patrick Sharp ($15,050) - Sharp has compiled 30 shots on goal in just 6 games. He is looking to score every shift he gets, and I think he finds the back of the net tonight. A pure goal scorer at home where Chicago gets to dictate the matchups is never a bad thing.
Ryan O’Reilly ($11,750) - Reilly jumps out to me today. With not many options at the position, his price won’t break the bank, and he is getting top line and top power play time. The “2nd line” for Colorado has been better in the early parts of this season, but Patrick Roy still belives in the O’Reilly line and is giving them the most ice time.
Others: Daniel Sedin, Alexandre Burrows
Right Wing:
Jeff Carter ($12,600) - Carter is on fire this season. 4 goals and 4 assists in only 7 games, and yet another price that won’t decimate your salary cap. Carter has destroyed Columbus after demanding a trade out of there 3 seasons ago. He always gets fired up against this team and I am not going to miss out.
Eric Fehr ($5,000) -Fehr is skating with Ovechkin and Backstrom. This is a great way to benefit when the best scorer in the league does his thing. Fehr will often benefit via an assist when Ovechkin scores, and you are paying less than one third of the price.
Others: Jerome Iginla, Marian Hossa
Defense:
Brent Burns ($9,800) - If there is one defenseman I am paying up for, it is Burns. In his mind he is still in the forward’s role with 28 shots in 9 games. Burns is seemingly always on the ice, logging over 23 minutes per game. On sites where +/- is not counted this is a huge factor to me.
Johnny Oduya ($5,000) - Oduya is a shot blocking machine for the sites that count them. Minimum price with over 20 minutes of ice time on the team that is the biggest favorite of the day is a recipe for success.
Others: Dan Hamhuis, Justin Braun
