Fantasy Hockey Picks 10-25-14
These fantasy hockey picks will help you dominate the competition tonight!
Disclaimer: If you’re playing a contest with the early game, do no hesistate to play the maximum number of Sharks the site allows you to play. With that said, let’s get to it.
Goalies:
Darcy Keumper ($18,950) - I am always nervous about taking a goalie against Stamkos and the boys in Tampa, but Keumper has been outstanding. The team in front of him is playing out of this world. He seems to never face shots where he is getting screened and never on the man disadvantage. 3 of his 4 starts this year have been shutouts, and the other game he only allowed 2 goals. Ride the hot streak here.
Mike Smith ($14,750) - As bad as he has been this season, I am going back to the well here. The Coyotes are the biggest favorites of the night and his price comes at a discount. He has looked awful, but we all know what Smith can do. This is the game he will bounce back.
Centers:
Claude Giroux ($16,200) - Giroux has 4 multi-point games already this season. He is on fire right now, and the backup goalie is expected to be in the net for DET. That is a recipe for success for this superstar.
Antoine Vermette ($8,000) - Vermette is the focal point of the Coyotes offense. He’ll be centering the frst line and top power play unit for the biggest favorite of the night. For these reasons alone, this price is a great deal. I expect Arizona to score 3-4 goals tonight and I would bet Vermette is in on 2 of them.
Others I like: Mikael Granlund, Pavel Datsyuk
Left Wing:
Zach Parise ($15,450) - Parise should get to face Nabokov in net and a tired Tampa team. If there is anyone in the league that can make a slower tired defense pay, it is Parise. Look for a big game as long as Nabokov is in net.
James Neal ($12,850) - Neal is coming off of a hat trick against a very stout Blackhawks defense. If he can do it against them, just wait to see what he will do against the team that traded him this off season. This is a much better matchup than CHI, and Neal is proving that he was not just a product of playing with Mlaking last season.
Others I like: Andre Burakovsky, Milan Lucic
Right Wing:
Jaromir Jagr ($11,400) - “Father Time” continues to produce. Ottawa gives up a ton of shots on net, so even if he doesn’t score he will likely contribute to your fantasy team. Every time Jagr touches the puck it looks like the game goes in slow motion. He is single handedly capable of changing the pace of the game to fit his style. With great vision, his teammates know to streak towards the front of the net and more often than not, he finds them.
Bobby Ryan ($10,650) - This is very dependent on which goalie is in for the Devils, but I belive it will be Scott Clemmensen. The coach told him to be ready for Saturday, but it is not yet confirmed. I usually don’t like taking players vs the Devils as they play the trap defense in the neutral zone, but Clemmensen is not very good. Ryan may be a better GPP play as not many will be on him.
Others: Troy Brouwer, Charlie Coyle
Defense:
Damon Severson ($5,750) - This price is still not close to where it should be. Take advantage. He is putting up a ton of shots for a defenseman which can only lead to good things against Robin Lehner.
Mark Streit ($9,700) - Streit s getting all of the top power play time against Gustavsson. I like his chances of finding himself on the scoresheet. With 2 backup goalies in for this game it could be very high scoring.
Others: Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Johnny Boychuk
