Fantasy Hockey Picks 10-11-14
We’re back at it with our fantasy hockey picks!
Goalies
Corey Crawford $17,300 - No surprise here. Picking on the Buffalo Sabres is going to be a theme this season. The Sabres just can’t score and CHI is one of the best teams in the league. THE SAFEST PLAY FOR CASH GAMES and the only one I will be using. He may not face more than 20 shots all game but should be a lock for the win.
Darcy Kuemper $9,800 - Kuemper just shut out this team on Thursday and his priced dropped for some reason. Being at home for Minnesota is huge but at this price I am willing to take the chance on him. This will be in GPPs only as Crawford is the only cash game play in my mind.
Others I like are Alex Stalock and Brian Elliot.
Centers
Patrice Bergeron $10,400 - Has a great matchup tonight. Being such a great defensive forward, coach Claude Julien will do everything he can to have Bergeron on the ice to keep Ovechkin in check. As great as a scorer Ovechkin is, he may be the laziest player in the league defensively and often gives up cheap goals.
Andrew Shaw $5,350 - Shaw is a steal. He skates with one of the best playmakers in the game in Patrick Kane and getting top power play time with all the studs on CHI for this price is too good to pass on.
Others I like are Davis Backes, Henrik Sedin, and Valtteri Filppula.
Left Wings
Joe Pavelski $11,850 - He played amazing in the opener vs LA. Even without finding himself on the scoresheet he committed 3.50 points to your team. The top line for SJ is in a good spot today and Pavelski should lead that charge.
Daniel Sedin $9,850 - I will be stacking Vancouver’s top line in at least 1 GPP tonight. This price is a bargain. The Sedin’s are seemingly always on the ice in the offensive end. With former coach John Tortorella out the door the Sedin’s can get back to playing their style of hockey which has been successful for years.
Others I like Partick Marleau, Ondrej Palat, Michael Cammalleri, and Cory Conacher.
Right Wings
T.J. Oshie $10,150 - Oshie announced himself to the world in the Olympics earlier this year. His confidence is soaring and a juicy matchup with the Flames is only going to boost his self esteem. Oshie and his linemates could be in for a huge game here.
Ryan Callahan $8,700 - He is reaping the benefits of the coach in TB not liking the way his team looked Thursday. Supposedly Callahan is going to be moved to the Stamkos line. That is a place you want to be as any NHL player. The hard working Callahan should be able to win battles in the corners and watch Stamkos do what he does best. Pair them both for a GPP and hope they connect for a few.
Others I like are Patric Hornqvist, Jaromir Jagr, and Alexander Semin.
Defensemen
Victor Hedman $10,200 - Hedman is a monster on the power play. Ottawa spent the 3rd most time in the league last year on the penalty kill so the chances should be there. Hedman loves to join the rush aswell and this should be an up and down game. Very fast paced with lots of scoring chances.
Brent Burns $6,050 - Burns is on one of the most talented power play units in the league. I love this spot for him tonight and the price is AMAZING. If you believe any of CrazeyGabey’s beard nonsense you will love Burns tonight. With over 21 minutes of ice time last game and a great price Burns will be tough to avoid tonight.
Others I like are Zdeno Chara, Marek Zidlicky, and Jay Bouwmeester.
SPECIAL NOTE: I did not want to list each and every player in the top six for Chicago but know that they are all in play for cash and GPP’s. Do yourself a favor and have some exposure to them.
